Hello,

I''d love some opinions please! I know a lot of you have seen rings like this, and many of you have them -- michael B, daniel K, legecy (minus the halo) type....

I''m getting down to the small details wit this type of setting... My stone is a square 2 ct cushion, and the setting will have a basket, cathedral sides, and bead set pave that goes around about half of the band... The question is, in your opinion, how wide should I make the band for a stone this size? I don''t want it to be too thin, or too wide. I''m thinking it''s somewhere between 1.8 and 2.4 mm, but where, I don''t know. Please help!!! I must decide by tomorrow!

I think most michael B rings are a bit thinner than I''m hoping for -- anyone know their size? It would help me know what''s too thin for me. (My hands are kind of big -- 6 1/2)

Reena, how wide is your band? that one looks good to me!

Does anyone know how wide the legacy is? That looks perfect to me too, and it''s one sided pave like mine will be so it may be a better comparison.

I want to get it right!

Thanks so much for any tips!

I believe most of those bands are under 2mm wide. I think Reena's said her ring is 2-2.3mm

Thanks Mrs. S -- I appreciate it -- if anyone else has any exact numbers (especially for the legacy) I''d really appreciate it.

hey -- just saw this. it''s funny, i can''t remember exactly how wide my shank is but i do think 2.2-2.5mm is about right. and let me say, my shank is really pretty thin. i love it, but if it were any thinner it might be "too" thin. now, note that mine also has a milgrain edge, which adds some width, so if you were going to go with straight pave like the michael b then that might shave a bit off.

hope this helps! good luck!

Thank you Reena and Mrs S. I saw some 2.0 bands and they were too thin for me. So I went with a 2.2 to 2.3 for now -- I will get to see the ring before they polish it down and add the pave, so I am pretty sure I can go thicker at that point if I change my mind...

so, I'd still love opinions if anyone would like to share

thanks again

I think you will be happy with your decision. I have a ring that's 2mm and it is super thin. i think just a touch bigger will be perfect and please, please, please, post pics when your ring is finished
