Does anyone know the least expensive place to find the round Ritani pave ring?

It's basically like the Endless Love setting w/o the halo: http://www.ritani.com/home_html_2.php?stone=all&cat_id=98&gender=women&page=20&get_descr=1RD1966ERP&metal=&collection=&matching=&related=&nav=&top=jewelry.

Should we spring for the Ritani brand name, or are there good copies of this ring somewhere? Bailey, Banks, and Biddle said that they were having a 15% off sale next month, and they would be willing to sell us just the setting. But they also said that we would have to know the exact size of the stone in order to know which size to order. Since we're not planning to buy the stone for a few more months, this may be a problem. Is this really true, or could we just give them a restricted range of sizes (1.0-1.3 carats for example)? Thanks so much!

The prices for most designer settings do not vary much between vendors. I would give a few of the places that carry the line a call and see who's the lowest. If you have someone you really want to work with you can always ask them to match the price or do they ever have any sales etc. I think Pearlman's is the only PS vendor that carries Ritani, but I could be wrong. I have seen the Ritani's in person and they are just gorgeous. very delicate and the workmanship is excellent. If you love it, i'd figure out a way to get the real thing..

Great, thanks so much. Now I think we should definitely buy the Bailey, Banks, and Biddle setting for $1785, but I wonder whether it would be a problem to get the stone from another vendor. For example, I wonder who would set it, the other vendor or BB&B? Is is generally recommended to get the setting and the stone from the same vendor so if something happens to the ring (i.e. a stone falls out or a prong gets bent) there is a clear chain of command?

The price you posted sounds like a great price. I would contact other Ritani vendors to see if they can match it or give you a better deal, but I highly doubt it.
I would probably have Ritani set the diamond if it is possible. I had the jeweler who I bought the setting from set it and they set it crooked, so it had to be sent to Ritani anyway.
Since you are thinking of buying it from BBB, why not just ask them if they can send your diamond to Ritani. I would rather have them do it because if there is a problem with setting it, they can fix it right away. Plus, they may want the prongs to look a certain way (ie: shape, like more rounded or more squared, or claws,etc.). Lastly, they will make the ring to fit your diamond measurements exactly, because it is in their possession.

If you give the setting to the vendor you are buying the diamond from, they may not set the diamond correctly. Remember, if they mess up the setting, they can''t fix it really. And they might not take responsibility for it (ie:we''ll set it for you, but at your own risk). And if that happens, Ritani might fix it, but charge you to fix it because they didn''t set it to begin with.

When I have had to do things to my ring, rather than contacting the store I bought it from, I have contacted Ritani directly and sent it back to them myself.
Also, any warranty on the ring (replacing missing diamonds, cracking, bubbles) may not be honored by the designer if your diamond is not set by them.

From what I remember, Vatche is one company that has a lifetime warranty against cracks, bubbles, etc. in their rings, but only if they set it themselves.
Anyway, I hope this is helpful.

butterfly 17, thanks so much for your feedback! Do you think it''s okay if I get the diamond from elsewhere though and have Ritani set it? Or do I need to have a Ritani diamond? Thanks again!

Pick a killer diamond and have Ritani set it. That way you know that you got the best diamond you could put in it.

I believe Ritani won''t just set your unset stone. they will reset it if it''s in another setting but they like for you to purchase their stones. there are ways around it and I would definitey purchase my stone elsewhere if possible. The price BB&B quoted you is very good but I think you would have to have your diamond for them to make it. doesn''t that setting have pave around the gallery? I don''t think they can make it without your stone..

Didn''t BBB say they would sell you just the setting? That is what you had posted initially. Or are you just asking for our opinions on whether you should buy the diamond elsewhere?

Hi,
I am pretty sure that Ritani will set your stone from another vendor. Of course, they would prefer to sell you both the diamond and the setting, but which vendor wouldn''t prefer that?

I think you may need to have your diamond set in a temporary simple setting though. I know they only accept already set stones for the endless bezel e-rings,I don''t know how it works for prong set e-rings.

I would ask Bill Pearlman about that since he sells Ritani settings. Also, I would find out if he could price match the BBB price. From what I have heard, he is excellent to deal with and great resource as well.
