Does anyone keep a spare setting because they change their mind too much?

I''m already on my second setting and I''ve been engaged for less than a year. I started off with a thick trellis setting but then changed my setting to a thinner band with pave diamonds. Every now and then I do miss my plain band setting. I didn''t keep my trellis setting because I traded it in to put towards my setting with the pave diamonds. Now I''m even thinking about purchasing a simple plain band setting just to have options.

Does anyone have two settings they keep actually own and rotate their diamond between? Is this even reasonable?

I have all of my settings (4) because I reset my er three times but it would be too difficult for me to switch b/w them. They are platinum and I just keep them because I am sure I couldn't get the even half their value if we sold.

For the first setting my jeweler gave me a lovely aquamarine as a gift but I never wear it. I should start wearing it. It's very pretty. It's a simple platinum band. In fact, know my husband would kill me but I think it's my favorite of all my settings LOL.

My second setting is just not my taste as it's too high and has baguettes so it is just laying around without a center stone.

I'm not sure where my 3rd ering setting is. Hmmm, need to start looking for that one.

Why don't you set a pretty stone in your previous settings so you can get enjoyment from wearing them?

Another alternative is having a few wedding bands to change your look when you feel like it.

I think resetting your diamond on a semi-regular basis would be risky in that the more it is done the greater possibility that there could be damage to the diamond. Plus I am not sure prongs can be reused a lot and still maintain their structural integrity.

I think the solution is to have two wedding sets. Start saving those pennies.

Um... I don''t think I will rotate my diamond in between. I don''t think the setting or perhaps not even the diamond can withstand constant setting and re-setting.

It doesn''t hurt to buy another setting and put a pretty stone in it :)
