I love simple clever tools.

Apparently too much snow building up on a roof can cause problems.
FF to 0:30 to see how this brilliant tool compares to old fashioned roof rakes.
So much faster, and less work.

I almost want to move where it snows ................... almost.

There's a meditative quality to watching that snow come off the roof...

I live where there's lots of snow but we don't get build up like that. It's very dry where I live so the snow doesn't compact in the same way; it's probably more humid where that video is taken.

Very cool!

We don't get snow often, but just got rid of the 8 1/2 inches that fell Sunday/Monday. It is very heavy wet snow. Thankfully not deep enough to be a safety issue (well, at least for the roof).

How much is a danger for the roof? I guess it depends on fluffy or wet?

That is cool! Looks quite easy to build yourself.

Very cool! May i never need one!

BTW - where are Quonset huts still the norm? Where I live they seem to be disappearing relics.

And probably how long it stays there until it melts. I imagine a hefty accumulation on a roof for a prolonged period of time would not be good for it especially if it happened for more than a few consecutive winters.

I'm digging that roof rake. We had to buy one a couple of winters ago when we got hit with multiple blizzards in a row, we were lucky to find one since apparently a lot of us needed them.

Now the hot item in our state is sleds since the blizzard a few days ago. Someone asked about one at Toys R' Us today and they were told they are completely sold out!

Almost couldn't get past that music in the beginning of that video though

I haven't seen such a tool before, so thanks for sharing! I live in the area where it snows heavily and last year I had problems with my roof, and now I'm going to replace it. Also I'm thinking about changing a hip type of the roof to a gable one as this source persuaded me that it would be a better choice.
