Does anyone have more than one style of band on the same finger?

I currently have a 1ct solitare plat engagement ring with a channel set eternity wedding band. I really want a micro pave eternity band for the other side of my engagement ring.....has anyone else mixed and matched styles/settings? I''m wondering if I should stick with the channel set to be consistant....problem is I LOVE the pave setting.

Any advice?

Carrie

Hi, Carrie! Well, you are asking for *opinions*, so you will likely get a diverse range of answers to your questions. And remember, none will be "right" or "wrong"... so in the end, you alone will have to decide what's right for you!

Can you post photos of your rings? I ask because that will give us a better idea of things... how thick your e-ring band is, how thin your channel set ring is, the ratio of metal to stones in the channel set ring, etc.

But, my (humble!) opinion, without seeing pictures is this... honestly, unless your channel set ring is very delicate, I don't think I'd add a micro-pave ring into the mix. I'm not saying it couldn't work, I just don't think it would be a look I, personally, would *love*. I don't have to have "matchy-matchy", either... I just don't think I care for the "mix" of those two (very different) styles worn together.

However, I think a pave ring can look AWESOME with a plain plat e-ring, so if you are wanting a pave ring, maybe you should get it... then could you move your channel set over and wear it as a RHR? Or just mix and match a little bit... wear the channel set with your e-ring when you want a little more bling, and the micro-pave when you want a delicate "shimmer".

Thanks for your reply Lynn.

My e-ring is 2mm thick and my channel set wedding band is also 2mm thick....so very thin. I prefer a more delicate look...which is why I think a micro pave might be a good choice for me....but again, I just want to ensure they compliment each other...not clash.

I''ve added a ring pic to my profile.

On the thread posting Avril''s wedding set, the first pic of just the e-ring and w-band is very traditional. In the later pics it shows her stacking these rings with others. I really like the look of stacking rings. I do like them to "go together" though not necessarily matchy-match. I wouldn''t just stack any rings that I like individually as I may not like them stacked.

OMG Lynn, that should be your new tag line! It rings very true for all us PS posters

, it depends. I have stacked like that (I'll search for my old posts) and it does give a very blingy, stacked look. Matchy? Not so much. Fun and sparkly? Yes!

Let me see if I can find my old posts with pixs...

I''m a 2003 bride as well : ) And like me you are approaching your 5 year anniversary......any more sparkle headed your way??? ; )

That''s why I''m leaning towards an anniversary band. I just love the micro pave setting!! And the stacked look is very pretty if done right. Uggghhh....decisions, decisions.

Thanks Sera,

I like the stacked look as well. I think if you add the rings you love you can''t go wrong. I just haven''t seen many wedding sets that are stacked. I would love to see some more pics....

Yeah... I love Leon''s bands and I love the single shared prong Ritani eternity... what''s a girl to do but get both.

Well, I may be revising my opinion!

With both of your current bands so thin (2mm) I think maybe you could pull off stacking on a micro-pave band (also 2mm''ish) and it would look lovely.

For some reason, I had a much thicker, "chunkier" image in my head of your rings!

Go jewelry-store hopping sometime, and try one on, and see what you think. Then don''t forget to let us know!!!

Thanks Lynn!

Yes....my current wedding set is on the "slim" side. If my rings were thick....this would not be an option ; )

Check this out....this is Kate Beckensale''s wedding set with an anniversary band as well...

My rings dont match though I selected my wband to not overwhelm my ering, just enhance and compliment it. And I''m looking for another eternity band - either French cut, horizontal baguettes or another band of single cuts - to wear with my wband and a plain plat band for when I dont wear my ering. I think it looks great but depends on how you pair it all up! My rings are here:

Wow - well done! Your wedding set is beautiful : ) And thanks for the feedback. I just like the flexibilty and options a 3-band wedding set offers.

What is the French cut?

OH! I love love love Kate''s rings! That''s kinda the style I''m really debating on getting- 2 pave with another band (mine would be single shared prong or bezel eternity).

Where was that photo of the various eternity bands- some with french cuts? There was a french cut and round eternity... would look great with your ring surfgirl... kinda looks like Kate''s bands. I thought I saved the pic, but I can''t find it. I can''t recall where they were from either. Ugh I can really annoy myself sometimes

I love the look Kate has going on with her rings - I''d go for it. You can stack it up when you feel like it & switch to your right hand when you don''t.

Carrie,
Im pro-stack rings with or without a solitaire in the middle of them.I like the look of stack rings that dont match and have color and diamonds mixed together.

sera, i love those rings! where can they be purchased!!?

i love kate's set!

Our jeweler suggested, and demonstrated on my hand, the Memoire pave band for above my engagement ring. I have a princess with a micro pave halo on a plain platinum band (Tacori) and an OGI channel set diamond band with engraving. Because the pave is tiny on my halo, the tiny pave band from Memoire was a nice blingy addition without being distracting or in competition with the wedding band. Oddly enough, it really did look nice, and we will consider it for an anniversary gift in the future.

Right now, if I want a little extra something, I add a very thin diamond and ruby band w/ milgraining (also an OGI) that I normally wear on another finger.

Oh -- this is so -- Me!! Love it. Love the antique feel. Love the different anniversary band.

I guess I like the stacking of different rings, because my mother had always done it with the various family diamond rings that came to her over the years.

*Bump*

Does anyone know where those rings are from (the ones Evelynn posted)?

I saw ones just like that in St. Helena, CA (outside of Napa) at a store called Palladium.

Hi Deco!

Yes, I vaguely remember someone on PS posting those pics after her visit to Singlestone....do you have any idea where that original thread is?

Neatfreak- thanks! I guess I just have to look around...I am nowhere near that store....

Hello ladies!

Yep, Deco is right - they are from Singlestone!

I really like the stackables, and the french cuts are amazing!
