I looked at the pictures of diamond studs and didn''t find any photos of these--of the ones that are pre-set and are upgradeable. Does anyone have these and are you happy with them?

I''m a little confused by them as they come in big color range (how do you know if you will get G or J?) and because some of them are I1s. I would like to know if they are worth the $$$

Studs packages do come in wide ranges if the diamonds are not GIA certed. It is simplest to price out GIA diamonds in the size you want to get a ballpark on what accurately graded diamonds are going to run.

If the pricing of uncerted goods is ridiculously lower then there usually is a reason. This brings in the "G to J" being J, why would it be G.

I''m sure that Jonathan, Marie or Christen at GOG would communicate what color/clarity stones you would be getting for your desired price. They only sell the best and even if the stone is an I1, it will undoubtedly be an ideal cut or at least very good--miles above what you would find in a retail store.

I have looked at those studs myself. First off, because they are H&A stones, you know they will be ideally cut. This is great. That means that as long as they are eyeclean (which I assume anything chosen by GOG would be, but it''s worth it to ask), the clarity isn''t an issue.

The color probably really isn''t an issue either, but you just need to know that you could get anything on the spectrum as far as color for the price. There is some gamble here, but assuming that you are ok paying the price they ask for the lowest possible specs, there is nothing to lose. They will certainly be beautifully cut diamonds meaning they will sparkle like crazy. And lower colors in earrings usually are not noticeable at all, especially in smaller sizes.

Just to clarify, the reason there is such a range is because they are uncertified. They are a significant amount less than certed diamonds would be so they are good for studs. Also when we order these, i can ask for a more narrow range from the supplier, like G-H SI1-SI2 or whatever. Some people don''t like this and feel it is worth to get certed studs and know exactly what the diamonds are. It''s all personal preference.

Hope this helps :)
