I have one too! I don''t have any pics though, I will try to post one tonight!

Darn, no one has pics! I got all excited - I want a teacup Yorkie SO BAD.

Awww, Bubbles and Brooklyn are SO cute! Btw, did Bubbles ever get over her UTI episode? Was that all it was?

Bubbles is much better (sort-of). It was a hormone issue due to her age and being fixed. She in now on medication that we give her with food once a day and she has had no more problems. Which he been great for her and our sofa!

But she recently tore her doggie ACL in her knee it seems like it will require surgery. She can only walk on 3 legs now and although she isn't in any pain (thank goodness!), it is sad to see her not be able to jump or run without the limp. Apperently it will never heal on it's own. I'm trying to save for the surgery... but I want to get a second oppinion first.

She is as happy as ever though! I love having dogs.

Thanks for the complement! I'll make sure to let them know that they are a hit on Pricescope!

I have a Yorkie! Her name is Chloe and she is now 13 years old. I love these dogs - no shedding, spunky personality and very loving. I will tell you, however, that years ago when we were researching her breed, we were warned about teacup size dogs. Various breeders told us that they had very small veins and that their lifespans were sometimes shortened as their circulatory systems had to work harder. We finally decided against it as we didn't want to fall in love only to lose the dog in a few years. Just something to think about. We are crazy about Chloe - our whole family is wrapped around her!

She weighs about 8 lbs. but this is a winter picture with her coat grown out a little longer. While she is a bit heavy, she is still a very small dog - she just looks bigger here because she is taking up all of this very small bed!

here''s my york-a-saurus, as my vet calls him. despite his "papers" guaranteeing an adult weight of 7-9 pounds, he weighs in at a solid 13 pounds!
he''s such a good boy! he is our family hero; he woke us up during an attempted burglary and (we believe) scared away the bad guys. he''s great with children, too. highly recommend the breed!

Thanks - she is my angel!

Are you thinking of getting a Yorkie?

I am considering! I want either a maltese/poodle mix or a yorkie. I''d prefer a pure yorkie but we will see!!

fiery - they are VERY smart....sometimes too much so. Last night I met some friends for dinner, and my family member called to tell me that when I left, she went to the front door, then went back to a side table where I''d left my larger purse (I took a smaller one) then went back to the door, went BACK and looked at the purse again, then went to the door and laid down. Family member said it was like she was thinking "Mom left her purse, she must be coming right back" and said it was heart breaking. I canceled plans tonight because of it.
Another story, I went home one day and she came out to greet me and started barking. I said what is it? (I talk to her, she can understand I promise) She barked again and ran into family member''s bedroom. I follow and she barks again and starts pawing the foot of the bed. I get down and look and there''s a bone, just barely out of her reach!

Last story I promise. The other day I was on the computer before work, and in the mornings she likes to go out alot, but not without our other dog. She wanted other dog to go out with her, but other dog didn''t wanna. So she kept walking to the window, then walking back to me and giving me a look like "what do I do". I told her "I don''t know what you should do". Suddenly she started growling and barking and running around like something was wrong, which got other dog all kinds of worked up! So other dog follows her to the back door because they HAVE To find out what''s wrong outside. I let them out and my dog is happy as a clam when she gets out there and other dog follows. Nothing wrong, she stops barking and starts walking around the yard.

They know how to get what they want

Dragon--Those are the cutest stories ever!!!

She''s a total ham. VERY smart, with tons of personality. I love her TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!! I don''t know what I''d do without her. She loves me and SO, and loves to go for rides in the truck (She hangs out his window in the wind). I''ll have to get pics on the computer of her. She''s way fun

We have a yorkie/poodle mix. He''s a great dog- very smart, but at time he can be so so dumb. He has a yorkie-ish face and long yorkie legs, but more poodle in his fur. He weighs in at about 7 pounds. He''s extremely loyal and will follow me everywhere..... Will try to attach a relatively recent photo of him pouting when he was told no.....

Here''s another that shows his body size. Apparently my husband has deleted all the cute photos of him off this lap top. Grrr......The other thing I find interesting about the breed (not sure if it''s the yorkie or the poodle in him), but he "guards" me.... If i''m in a room, he stands "guard" in the open door, looking towards the rest of the house, until I leave. It''s really sweet.

Awww! That could be Yorkie - my friends Yorkie does this. He also hates everyone near his mommy unless you are sitting down. The minute you stand up he goes crazy barking. (Unless he knows you, and he has only seen me twice, so he goes crazy when I come in the house.)

We found lots of variance in Yorkies. There are breed standards to be sure but there are many different looks to Yorkies. We specifically wanted a Yorkie with a 'baby doll face'. All good breeders know what this feature is. Instead of having a longish snout, the baby doll face Yorkies have more of a smushed nose. Chloe's mother had long silky hair; her father had a shorter, thicker coat. She seems to be a mix of the two. She is better kept shorter as her hair is not thin enough to be long and dragging on the floor like some Yorkies. As with anything else, you usually get what you pay for. People I know that have gotten dogs at pet stores or puppy mill type breeding places have gotten Yorkies that are not as good looking as they could be. I do know a couple of people that were lucky enough to get well bred, expensive Yorkies from rescue operations. Sometimes people relocate or sadly enough, owners die. I guess it just takes being in the right place at the right time. In breeders magazines, there are dogs from champion lines that sell for 2500 to 3000.

As far as the YorkiePoos, they can be real dolls too. I had a toy poodle before I had the Yorkie. Poodles are extremely intelligent, loyal dogs. Mixed with the spunky personality of a Yorkie they can be real loveable teddy bears. Their looks can be varied as well depending on the parents - especially their coloring. They tend to be one color rather than having the varigated fur of the Yorkshire Terrier. Because they are cross bred, they are generally cheaper than a pure bred dog.

The Yorkshire Terrier hails from England. They were ratters - seeking, finding and cornering rodents. Once they find something, their focus is completely on that object. You can't tear them away - but that's the way they were bred. Chloe will guard a dropped sock like nothing you've ever seen! It is funny to us but to her it's all business!

Just some things to think about in terms of what you want and what you are willing or able to pay. Bottom line is that once they are yours, they wrap themselves around your heart. Be prepared to lose your heart!
