Hi,

I am interested in Mark Morrell''s setting (e.g. Flame or sunburst). But I have a bit of reservation with sending diamond back and forth to get it set and dealing with the shipping , insurance, appraisal etc.

Do you know if any PS vendor carries mark morrell''s setting?

I did see one mark morrell''s setting (flame) on GOG''s site. Has anyone bought mark Morrell''s setting form GOG? Or do you still need to send the diamond to Mark Morrell?

Thanks.

Hi bschai!

If I am not mistaken, Mark Morrell''s website says that there are currently no vendors that are "authorized" to carry his jewelry line. Which I think means you can only purchase the setting from MWM Jewelry. That said, you will probably have to send the the diamond directly to Mark to have it set and/or design the setting you choose. However, if you have insurance that shouldn''t be a problem.

According to MWM's website, you have to send the diamond through a third party, i.e., a jeweler or an appraiser. Call him first to discuss any project and he'll provide further instructions. You cannot purchase his work through any other vendors. Good luck with your ring!

You need to send the diamond to MM (through an authorized third party) as the setting is built specifically for your diamond. Hence, no vendors carries his settings.

Anyone have experience buying the stone from WF or GOG and shipping to MM directly?

I was able to try on a Flame setting at GOG a few months ago, but it has since been sold. I know that GOG has worked on many projects with Mark Morrell so they have an established relationship. If you purchase something from GOG, coordination with Mark is relatively straightforward. You should call them directly, I''m sure they would be happy to answer your questions.

I bought a D'Vatche setting and diamond from GOG, but Vatche has to set it. So GOG sent the diamond them, it was set, returned to GOG and then sent to me. Kinda the same thing, just a different designer. No probs.

I bought a stone from WF and had MM do the setting. I looked over the stone, sent it back to WF who sent it on to Mark. Then Mark sent the finished ring directly to my appraiser. Easy-peasy!

Just for clarification. Mark Morrell and GOG have worked out an agreement wherein we are the only authorized distributors of his settings. At this time it is only the Flame which is why we feature that setting on our website. Mark has provided our setter with both the knowledge and the tools to properly set diamonds in the settings he crafts for the diamonds we sell, so even when we set the diamond for the client in the hand made Flame setting by Mark, it is backed with the same guarantees/policies that we provide with all our rings/jewelry. At this time other settings of Marks must be purchased through him. Hope that helps.

Kind regards,

does MM''s 3rd party rule still apply for people who live 20 minutes from him? i know he has his reasons for doing it this way, but it seems almost comical for people in my situation. not that i''m ordering a ring any time soon, but maybe someday....

Best bet is to call and speak with directly with him erica.

Thanks Rhino and all.

Rhino, since you are familiar with the Flame setting, can you provide more angle shots of what the flame setting (without side diamonds) look like? GOG website only has one picture of it.

Thanks.
