Well, WF has a .68 I SI OMC (EGL cert) for $1100. A slightly smaller, lower color stone should be less, but factor in a platinum setting and $1400 seems fair.
My biggest question would be...Does it have a cert? Because if the color is, in fact, lower than a K -- or if the clarity is actually lower than SI -- you might not be getting what you are paying for. Can the ring be returned if it doesn''t check out with an appraiser? Obviously, you have seen it, though, so that weighs in its favor.
My next question is... What is this for?
And my final question is... Do we get to see pics?
I have a few anniversaries coming up - 1 is my 1 year married, that''s next weekend, and the other is 5 years sober in September. SO I was trying to do a combo present, have DH get me part, and me get myself a part of it.
But I am so confused as to what I want.
1 option is a 2 ct sapphire, that I would get now and not set for awhile until more funds are available.
That ring i mentioned is 1 option.
And then there''s the idea of studs...
Or a trip to Italy.
Or furniture.
The truth is we can only afford 1 thing and I feel a littel selfish goin for jewlery right now, but it''s an addiction, ya know? (See that , I replaced beer with diamonds...)
I can comepletely sympathise...I have been trying to figure out how to save money out of the wedding budget to get some nice wedding jewelry!
Well, I think this sounds like a nice option. What is the setting like? Would you wear it as an rhr? I personally am a ring person, so that would win for me, hands down -- though a nice sapphire might be a nice "investment" for a later project; were you thinking a ring for that as well? What do you think you would get more wear out of?
Of course, after jewelry, my greatest weakness is furniture. And I''ve always wanted to go to Italy.
Maybe I shouldn''t be offering you any advice!
Good luck deciding! And congrats on both anniversaries!
