Do your pets have any weird habits?

I have another to add--

I'm definitely gonna get a video because it's really funny, she has been doing this forever! Its "lopsided". Normal dogs run straight and she does run forward but her back legs are lopsided.

Back in the apartment, if Stitch wanted to save his food for later, he''d "bury it." Usually, in our bed. He''s buried a ball of rice in his blanket "for later." We''ve also found a HALF EATEN LOAF OF BREAD he fished out of my friend''s pack under DH''s pillow. I''ve found a strawberry under mine.

Oh, and burying comes completes with "digging," depositing said gem, and "covering" it up by pulling the blanket over it and smoothing it out with his head. I wish I had a video cam to record it.

My dogs will sometimes do this with treats in our couches. I think it''s cute, but then again, it''s only dry dog treats in our couches. I''m not so sure I could handle strawberries, etc, in my bed, lol!

One of our cats "celebrates" peeing. Their litter boxes are in a small closet converted to a cat bathroom. Every time he pees, he comes charging out galloping and does a couple laps around the living room. He literally does this 10-20 times a day. We probably encourage him by cheering for him whenever we are home and not asleep. This same cat is not allowed downstairs (neither are) which makes him obsessed with it. He has a "battle cry" he makes any time he sneaks down there. Once he makes his charge, he just freezes, since he has no idea why he wants there, just that he wants to be there.

Our other cat has this neon bird that he brings us in the middle of the night, making that hunting cry cats make. He will continue to wail until we acknowledge it--even though it is almost always between 3-5 a.m. He also has a very specific place he wants his toys. If we clean up, he will spend about an hour afterward getting specific toys out of his toy box, putting them in those specific spots.

Be careful with all the kitties eating plastic. One of ours does that and the vet was worried he had Pica for awhile. And, apparently some chemical in PVC is like a drug for them. So we always say Kirby is "getting his fix" when he is eating plastic. We try to stop him from it as much as possible, but it is hard. Any cord in our house is chewed up, if not ruined.

I never realized cats were sooo funny! I''m not a huge cat person and I always thought they were very stand-offish. I love reading all the posts.

I always say I have 2 dogs, but really only one is mine. Riley is a pointer mix I adopted and she''s now 3. Last year my mother and I went out and adopted a black lab mix for my dad for Father''s Day. He named him Merc (after Mercury boat engines). Each is very special.

Riley is a little princess. She needs to have some sort of people food in her dish to eat any dog food. I blame my mother for this and now Merc''s the same. She also suffers from seperation anxiety. I can take her to work with me (the joys of working for a pet company, we always have dogs in the office) and she won''t let me leave the office suite to go to the bathroom. She follows me everywhere and literally howls if I walk out a door without her. But, she''ll go wander off on her own and visit other people for treats. And she carries this big stuffed yellow chick-looking thingy with her.
Her newest thing now is eating beetles. If I go swimming at night with light on in the pool, all the bettles fly into the water. She sits on the second step of the stairs and eats all the bugs as they float by. When we go to the beach, she likes to sit right at the waterline and let the waves wash over her. (she''s in my avatar).

Merc is another piece of work. He''s very lanky and fast and loves to do laps around the couches in the family room, ending by catapaluting (sp?) himself onto one of the couches (did i mention they''re leather?) He''s almost gone over the back before. He likes to take his treats and bury them in the toy basket or under one of the beds. For some reason he also likes to hump the beds as well. ANd he never leaves Riley alone. He''s always biting her neck, check, ears, legs, to get her to play with him.

When I was kid we have a lab named Max. He was crazy for the water. We''d go to the beach and he''d literally dive under the water and bring up mussels, carry them to beach and leave them at my dad''s feet. One time, he came up with a live horse-shoe crab! He dropped it, the thing flipped itself back over and went back into the water! And Max enjoyed jet-skiing.

Now that I think about it, I''m also "mommy" to my BF''s mini dauschund Frankie. He enjoys burrowing and sleeping under the covers of the bed. In the winter he''s down by the feet, but in the summer he comes up to the top. I''ve woken up with him sharing my pillow! He also enjoys swimming and he''ll do laps at the beach. From the beach, out to the boat, around the boat, back to the beach. And with no life jacket on. Plus he''s the only mini I know who does agility.

Gosh I love this thread!

-Cleo always lays down the same way, on her right side, with her right paw tucked under.
-When she was a baby, she would eat the crunchy parts of lettuce.
-She eats bread, but only McDonalds bun bread. And not the ones with sesame seeds!
-If you ask here where one of the other cats is, she will trot off to wherever that kitty is hiding. She only does it if we have been looking a long time though. If we just ask her randomly she won''t do it.

-Poofy also dips her paw in the water then licks it off to drink it.
-Meows so softly that the only way you can tell is that her mouth is opening.
-Eats one piece of food at a time, by fishing it out of her bowl with her paw and putting it directly in her mouth. I swear she has a thumb hidden in her abundance of fur.

-Alien will hunt outside until she finds a bug/feather/interesting thing, then grab it AND all the grass surrounding it in her mouth. Then she comes yowling to my dad and puts it down in front of him, and he has to dig through the grass to find whatever it is she found. After he finds it and praises her, she eats it. No matter what it is. Thankfully she hasn''t ever brought him something dangerous!
-She walks like a ballerina, extending her paws out in an exaggerated way.
-She falls over when you rub her ears. She gets so excited that she stands on her hind feet, loses her balance, and falls over.
-She also falls off the porch, quite a lot. And the kitchen chairs.

This thread is so funny :) Our cat Monkey also loves to lick plastic bags. And we''ve had many "what the hell did he eat?!" moments when we find some stuff in the litter box. Packing tape. Balloon strings. You get the picture.

He does the "poop & run." Whenever he comes shooting out of the bathroom, we know he just pooped. Doesn''t run when he pees, just #2.

He shakes his head after he takes a bite of food. Every time. And this results in food being scattered about six inches in any direction of his bowl at all times. Messy li''l Monks.

Our cat worships the printer. When we turn it on, she comes running from wherever she is in the house and sits reverentially in front of it to wait for the startup cycle to be over. Once the printer falls quiet, she will leave and get a toy and place it gingerly on the paper tray as an offering, then she sits and waits for it to make noise again. When it does she stands on her hind feet and peers at it, then curls up under the table it sits on and goes to sleep.

Our one year old ragdoll kitty Daisy has a few. First off she is just the most vocal cat I have ever heard. It can be annoying at 5 am. She love tortillas. I put the grocery bags on the floor while I am putting them away and she scouts them out of the tortillas. She pulls them out of the bag, drags them away and tears at the package. Finally she is obsessed with little yellow rubby duckies. She carries them in her mouth like babies and loves to play catch with them
