Do you wear your e-ring/wedding set to sporting events?

Like a MLB/NFL/NHL game? Or is that a place you're worried about being a target at? I suppose that probably depends on the city and it's crime rate. Clearly, I live in the most dangerous city...

I never used to wear more than a plain band because I didn't want to draw attention, but I am attending a Cards game and will be in a private box and may wear it tonight. I am waffling.

Yes, I do. Basically I wear it everywhere in public, unless I'm running a really quick errand like to the store or something.

My stone isn't big so I'm not too worried about being a target.

Me, too. We live in Chicago, which isn't exactly the safest city in the country, but I wear my set to sporting events. Even to Sox games. :cheeky:

Yes.

It depends on what you want to be a target for . . . romantic interest, or crime? :Up_to_something:

I rarely go to sporting events - hockey would be the one I'd attend if anything - and the lights in the arena are AMAZING for bling - so, yes, I'd wear them for sure just so I could watch them sparkle! (I'm a simple soul that is easily distracted by anything that twinkles!)

I wear my ER and WB everywhere I go. I understand your concern though and am not dismissing it but I want to be able to enjoy my jewelry and my ER and WB are the most important jewelry pieces I own. I also have my ER insured so g-d forbid anything should happen I would be insured. That's the only piece I have insured actually because insurance is expensive here.

Listen to your gut though and if you don't feel comfortable don't wear it. I am a big believer in listening to one's gut feelings!

Enjoy the game!

I do much of the time. I've never even thought about being a crime target - I think about how it hurts when I clap too much! If I leave it at home, it's because I anticipate a lot of clapping. Usually when I wear it, I bring a necklace to string it on if I end up clapping a lot. I almost always wear it to hockey and basketball games (like Enerchi said, the lights are awesome!), and less frequently to baseball games (because I get so hot and sweaty and all I can imagine is all the sweat and sunscreen getting all up in my e-ring and making it filthy). But none of these decisions are motivated by worries about crime.

Yes, I totally forgot about that- it hurts like heck to clap hard with my rings on LOL! It still doesn't affect my decision to wear them but totally agree with the pain of clapping while wearing our rings! :cheeky:

I attended Cardinals game two weeks ago. And I set in the cheapest highest section :) I have to say that the lighting there is amazing. You just must take your babies out there and watch them sparkling and glowing under the Busch Stadium lights. I am not a fan of the game (went to see my my son's 4th grade choire performance before the game) so I set most of the game and just stared at the stones.

yes, I wear mine whenever I go out, and as far as being a target, I'm usually with a bunch of people when we go to games or other events so I feel fairly safe. And with so many other people attending the same event, there is always going to be someone else with much larger more expensive bling than mine, so I guess I don't feel that I would make a very smart target. :wink2:

Lol! There is good light but my dad and dh didn't come so we just went with plain bands. We've had a little outbreak of armed robberies lately so we just didn't risk it. Normally if i come I have at least my dad or brother so I do wear it.

I am well insured but that is for some reason not comforting at all.

Isn't this what insurance is for? :wink2:

If you feel your safety is at stake, like someone will mug you and physically harm you, or if you'll be fretting all evening, and so nervous that you can't enjoy yourself, don't wear it. Enjoy yourself! Have fun out!

Ame,
Two weeks ago when we walked from the game there was a police car on literally every corner. I think that Cardinals game night is probably the safest one to take your jewelry out for a walk. But it's ultimately your decision to make. :twirl:

Well as many of my prior posts have referenced, Im nuts. Insurance does not calm me. But I've also been robbed before of them so while it was an easy claim process it was not really a fun replacement process! I was probably nuttier than most prior to the robbery, but I am way way way worse now. We decided not to risk it tonight. I don't regret it really, but we were inside most of the night anyway, since we were in a Party Room. Stuffing our faces with nachos and limitless Diet Coke. And now I don't have to clean cheese out of a ring (Im a lefty for eating, I dunk a lot).

I do normally wear them for this kind of stuff, if I know my DH, brother or dad or some male person will be with me as I would feel less of a target otherwise. I don't carry more than a little coach swingpack (no logos, turned around) and a few cash bills, ID and a card, and my phone, with my keys literally on my body in a pocket, and that's usually it.

Inna--I no longer work on the Landing but I RARELY wore rings beyond a plain one to work there if I could avoid it, some nights I left them in the work safe if I had worn them in for some reason and it was late. There were CONSTANT muggings, attempted and successful murders, etc. down there, and I did NOTHING to make myself a target. If it was late and none of my partners or associates were still down there, I would go to show-mes or big daddy's and have one of the guys walk me near the garage we parked in or at least watch me get into my car. They were always ready and willing to do that, and they knew us bec we had lunch there nearly daily. With the casino going in, it doubled the attacks that were already pretty bad there. There were nights where I would pay the 10 bucks or whatever to park in the lot next to the building because it was a 15 step walk to the car.

I sat in that section once and it scared the crap out of me. We were literally ON THE END in the very tippy top corner. I was freaked at having the street down below me! When the wind blew it moved. *shudder*

I usually only go if I have been invited or given tickets. This was a work related evening tonight, none of the big wigs at work could make it and they offered them to me.

Ame,
The tickets that school offered were all in the same section, the one you have the view on the downtown from, so we had food court behind us, not the street. Anyway, I wouldn't go there if not for my son's performance. I avoid going to downtown after dark. Same with Delmar, Tower Grove, Forest Part and so on. I still cannot believe that for a few years I walked by myself to WashU parking after my evening classes ended at around 10:00 p.m. For my masters I transferred to online program just to avoid that experience. And you are doing the right thing my asking other people to keep you a company. I do the same thing.
There are some positive things about St. Louis, traffic is not bad 8-)

Lol as long as you don't need 270, 40 or 70 ;)

I always wear my ering when I go to NHL games in Los Angeles. The area around the arena is a mix of gentrified and sketchy, but there are always other fans around and they seem to take camaraderie seriously.

As Enerchi says, the arena makes the diamonds really sparkle.

Go Kings!! (Sorry, couldn't resist).

AMEN sister, I was going to say this. Ladies, if you haven't attended a hockey game with your bling, the combo of the white ice plus the lights make my rings go BOOM! I love it, though I feel very conspicuous sometimes at a hockey game. :)

Just a suggestion - for times when you feel uncomfortable, flip your ring around so it looks like you are just wearing a few thin bands. I figure this will at least attract a little bit less attention. I do this when I walk to my car after work (or whenever I am in a situation where I feel like I should be concerned about it). But if you feel uncomfortable during the entire event, then I would just leave it at home.

Yes, I wear mine wherever I go.

Me too.

Me three. I wear them to any match. This year, I'll wear them to the Olympics too!

I usually wear just my eternity band, and keep it on everywhere except to the gym.

I wear my set pretty much everywhere. I haven't taken my rings off to attend games.

If concerned about safety, I would turn the engagement ring towards my palm as someone else suggested.

As for hurting when clapping, try hitting your right fingers against your left palm. That way, you are not hitting your left fingers/rings.
