Do you wear you jewelry 24/7 ...sleeping ,showering,swimming,gardening,working...not worrying about bending, scratching, chipping or chemical damage...how many pieces do you wear at once?
Do you worry about removing pearls, opals, turquoise or emeralds?

Definitely not all of the time. As soon as I get in the door I lock the door, put down my handbag, take my shoes off, and next is the jewelry. I wear it typically whenever I am out. And I wear..2 rings, a watch, a necklace, and 1 set of earrings..so that''s 5 pieces total if you count each earring separately. I definitely worry about chemical damage..since my rings are both white gold I try to take them off before dealing with chemicals. For example if I am using any kind of anti-bacterial spray or something on my hands I take the rings off until my hands dry, then put them back on. That''s better than leaving them on I think at least a bit better.

I hate sleeping in jewelery. I use to wear it 24/7 stud earrings/ wedding ring and engagement ring, sometimes a necklace. Now I hate to sleep in jewelery. Hate it. Also hate to wear it in the shower or working out.

I do have beautiful emerald and diamond platinum ring but its in the safe at the bank now. I do have a beautiful sapphire/diamond/platinum ring I wear often on my right hand and a new diamond solitaire pendant I wear almost daily.

I wear my sterling silver hoops in my second hole, and my belly button ring all of the time, and my tsavorite ring gets taken off when: cooking, cleaning, showering, or if I forget to put it back on.

I will likely treat my ering and wband #2 the same way I do the tsavorite...but I will wear wedding band #1 24/7.

ditto to Sarah loves JS, as soon as i walk in the door I usually take off shoes, jewellery and sometimes change into something more comfortable or appropriate for home.

take everything off the moment i walk into the house.i can''t stand wearing any jewelery when im home...

No, I don''t wear all of it all the time. Details:

- I only take my engagement ring off to shower because I don''t like it slipping around when I''m trying to shampoo my hair. I put it back on after I put on lotion, put product in my hair, and clean my ring. Then it is sparkly for the day! If I am away from home, I leave it on even in the shower because I''m petrified to take it off and risk losing it.

- I wear my sapphire ring most days, but I always take it off at night because the band is thin, and the setting is pretty delicate, so I want to avoid bending or misshaping it while I sleep. I''d sleep in it if I weren''t worried about the setting.

- I almost never take off my watch. I only remove it if I''m going to be in the sun and want to avoid tan lines. I am lost without it!

- I never take out my bellybutton ring. Even after 8 years, the darn hole tries to close up if I have the ring out for even a few hours. Since I never want to get it re-pierced (OUCH), I leave it in.

- If I''m wearing small studs or hoops earrings, I don''t take them off at all. I''ll go for weeks/months wearing the same small earrings (I have two holes in each ear--result of a little sixth-grade rebellion
1.gif
). When I wear bigger studs or danglies, I take them off to sleep.

- I''ll go for months wearing my diamond pendant 24/7. Occasionally I''ll get sick of it and put on something else for a few days, but then I''ll go right back to the pendant.

My ER and band I wear 24/7 except when showering. Everything else I take off to sleep in but the rest of the time stays on.

My belly button ring stays in 24/7. I''m not sure excatly why, but I can''t stand to take it out and put it back in! YUCK!

I put the rest of my jewelry on right after I get dressed in the morning, and it comes off when I change into my PJs that night. On a daily basis, I wear diamond studs, diamond three-stone pendant, diamond tennis bracelet, and of course my e-ring and w-band. The only exception to this is when I go to the barn . . . then I only wear the studs, the e-ring and the w-band.
21.gif

I wear both pairs of diamond studs all the time except when I stick them in the US...usually twice a week. I wear very little in the house otherwise....sometimes my wedding ring. I always wear my mother''s necklace/pendant.

I wear either my e-ring/w-ring or 3 stone ring with w-ring 24/7 except for showering which is when I clean my rings. I do take them off if I am using heavy chemicals or bleach, but put them right back on.

When I was first engaged and even probably the first year of marriage, I would only wear my ring when I was going out someplace, never at home. Then I just decided it was silly to be paying for regular checks and insurance and not enjoy my jewelry.

I wear my aquamarine RHR all of the time except for doing dishes or showering. I know that aqua''s are fairly soft, but I am very gentle with it. I think I''m more terrified that I will lose it if I do take it off!

I have a silver Tiffany necklace from my BF that I wear as long as it goes with my outfit.. So it can stay on for a day or two and then I''ll remove it for a day or two.

I never sleep in my earrings though.

I remove all jewelry when I get home.I have an old seiko watch that I put on when at home.I dont sleep in any jewelry as this creates wear on prong work and surface designs, dulls surface polish, and stretches and damages chains(links are misshaped, dulled and the links are thinned by the metal grinding against each other over time) I also remove jewelry for house cleaning, yard work and hot tub or swimming because ive seen to much damage with clients jewelry from chemical contact or useing the wrong cleaner for jewelry(the client who soaked her 1950s Tiffany & Co. Turquiose and 18kt pin in bottled jewelry cleaner was hard to take.) I also avoid jewelry wear at the gas pump....I carry a few plastic disposible gloves in the glove box in case im caught with a low tank. One thing that gets me is jewelry storage...had a client who used to carry ALL of her jewelry in a plastic sandwich bag in her purse...pearls,diamonds,5 carat antique burmese ruby stickpin, and herringbone chains all crammed in this little bag.

On an average day, I wear my engagement ring and a necklace, sometimes a RHR.

I take my engagement ring off for sleep, put it on after my shower in the morning. I do take it off as a cautionary measure, chemicals and such... but it is platinum so I worry about it less than my WG/G jewelry.

I wear a necklace 24/7. I only put on other jewelry (bracelets, RHRs, etc.) if I'm going "out."

On vacation, I wear the e-ring 24/7... if I have to take it off my finger for hiking, swimming, etc. then I wear it on a chain around my neck. Misplacing it on vacation is much more likely to lead to permanent loss than misplacing it at home, so I don't want to take the chance by taking it off. I even clean with it on my hand

I plan to wear my wedding band (bezeled eternity) at all times, including sleep and shower. I'll take it off for a quick clean post-shower/getting ready.

ETA: Here's an old thread of mine I thought you might find interesting:

Poll: what kind of band(s) do you wear, and when?

For many years I wore my wedding set (plain gold band and 0.18 ct diamond solitaire) along with simple gold ball studs 24/7. I had a sterling necklace that I wore as well. The watch always came off for the shower and bed. Now I take everything off at night, except for a plain gold wedding band. I wear that when I''m not wearing my upgraded platinum diamond ring.

I wear my wedding ring (the one in my avitar) pretty much all the time... I take it off to shower, clean, lotion hands etc.

When I get out of the shower, I put on, my RHR, my mothers pendant, and my diamond hoops. I don''t think I''ve ever shown those! LOL! I really should take some good pics of my pendant. My DH designed it, and it is quite stunning!

I''m actually looking to get some leverback RB studs. My hoops are getting boring to me.

I bought a little case at WM, that is meant for contacts... it''s like a tiny eyeglass case... and I keep it in my toiletry bag so that when I''m travelling, I can take all my jewelry off, and put it in there while I shower, and lotion etc... that way it''s safe, and not obvious if I happen to forget to put it all back on!

My studs are the only jewelry that stays on me 24/7 - they come out once a week or two just for cleaning (yes, I know, bad PSer!). Basically, when I'm in my house, I put on sweats and a tank top, and when the PJs go on, as a general rule, the jewelry comes off.

ETA: I always forget the rest of the question, ooops. I usually wear a wedding set, a bangle bracelet, a pendant, and earrings (always my studs unless I have some kind of fun costume jewelery for a special occasion). So what comes off are the rings, bracelet, and pendant. For stones like opals or fragile/meaningful pieces, they go on right before I walk our the door and come off the second I walk back in.

ETA2: I do the same thing with the contacts case!

Funny. I do the same thing. I store my jewelry in a pouch that I keep in my pocket. The pouch has separate compartments so the rings don''t scratch each other.

the only jewelery i ever wear is my ering and i wear it 24/7....sleeping, cleaning, painting, dishes, working out...it never comes off except to clean it and then it goes right back on. i''m sure this is the least awesome thing i can do....but i have a tendency to forget/lose things and i''d rather not take the risk!

Earrings, necklace, bracelet yes I wear all the time and hardly ever take it off.

My e-ring comes off as soon as I get home.

I only wear a pair of earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, and my e-ring at once.

I wear small studs in my second earring hole 24/7. Everything else comes off at night. Rings usually come off as soon as I come home.

I wear a plain band on vacations and any time I''m doing anything strenuous that could damage my ring.

I wear some kind of wedding or anniversary band all the time, even when I shower and sleep, and I also wear a small platinum rolo with two miniature charms on it all the time. That bracelet is symbolic for me. All of the other things I add on when I get dressed, come off as soon as I get home because I''d rather be more comfortable.

I''ve gotten really bad at tolerating jewelry in the summer heat. I know, that''s awful to say here but it''s true. I have a hard time with things sticking to me when it''s very hot outside and I''m perspiring.

I do try to keep my jewelry nice/clean, especially since I have a pave engagement ring. But either way, I have a tendency to want to be free from my jewelry once I get home. Something about the feeling of it when I''m in the shower, or in bed, it''s like it shouldn''t be there. Sorta like my bras
31.gif
. I do tend to keep my emerald necklace on all of the time, mostly because it''s so light and dainty that I forget it''s even there.

Musey.....I simply cannot believe I never thought of wearing my ering around my neck when needing to take it off if I''m not home! It''s like a novel idea to me! (doh)!

Once I am home, I remove my rings and bracelet. I take my earrings out before going to bed.

The only thing I never take off is my Tiffany''s silver bracelet. Everything else comes off for bed, work-outs and showers. I have been known to leave the house forgetting to put my stuff back on. Not good since I have some wicked tan lines on my hands

That''s me exactly. As soon as I get home, I drop the handbag, kick off the shoes, put the jewelry in its box and lose the work clothes. I like to be comfortable at home, plus I don''t want to worry about damage.

I wear my e-ring and w-band every day (or did before the pregnancy-induced swollen fingers). I wear a watch everyday, and some pair of earrings almost every day. I wear a pendant 3-5 days a week. RHRs and bracelets are more sporadic. My most frequent combo is diamond studs and solitaire pendant, but I switch it up sometimes with a strand of pearls and pearl earrings or colored gemstones.

Let''s see...I generally only wear my class ring and the necklace BF got for me at Tiffany''s for my 21st birthday. I plan on getting a pair of RSG 3-prong martini studs to wear every day. I had a bracelet from BF I used to wear every day. I took it off while baking cookies, and his apartment ate it! It''s been a year.
39.gif
But he said that once he''s set up and has a steady flow of income, he''ll get me something to replace it. So then I''ll wear that.

I''d love to wear a watch, but I can''t find one that''s delicate enough for me.

nooooooooo no. Last thing that I put on before I leave, and first thing I take off when I get home! Including diamonds, not just more fragile gems.
