I bought a little case at WM, that is meant for contacts... it''s like a tiny eyeglass case... and I keep it in my toiletry bag so that when I''m travelling, I can take all my jewelry off, and put it in there while I shower, and lotion etc... that way it''s safe, and not obvious if I happen to forget to put it all back on!Date: 8/25/2008 4:56:12 AM

No, I don''t wear all of it all the time. Details:
- I only take my engagement ring off to shower because I don''t like it slipping around when I''m trying to shampoo my hair. I put it back on after I put on lotion, put product in my hair, and clean my ring. Then it is sparkly for the day! If I am away from home, I leave it on even in the shower because I''m petrified to take it off and risk losing it.
- I wear my sapphire ring most days, but I always take it off at night because the band is thin, and the setting is pretty delicate, so I want to avoid bending or misshaping it while I sleep. I''d sleep in it if I weren''t worried about the setting.
- I almost never take off my watch. I only remove it if I''m going to be in the sun and want to avoid tan lines. I am lost without it!
- I never take out my bellybutton ring. Even after 8 years, the darn hole tries to close up if I have the ring out for even a few hours. Since I never want to get it re-pierced (OUCH), I leave it in.
- If I''m wearing small studs or hoops earrings, I don''t take them off at all. I''ll go for weeks/months wearing the same small earrings (I have two holes in each ear--result of a little sixth-grade rebellion). When I wear bigger studs or danglies, I take them off to sleep.![]()
- I''ll go for months wearing my diamond pendant 24/7. Occasionally I''ll get sick of it and put on something else for a few days, but then I''ll go right back to the pendant.

I remove all jewelry when I get home.I have an old seiko watch that I put on when at home.I dont sleep in any jewelry as this creates wear on prong work and surface designs, dulls surface polish, and stretches and damages chains(links are misshaped, dulled and the links are thinned by the metal grinding against each other over time) I also remove jewelry for house cleaning, yard work and hot tub or swimming because ive seen to much damage with clients jewelry from chemical contact or useing the wrong cleaner for jewelry(the client who soaked her 1950s Tiffany & Co. Turquiose and 18kt pin in bottled jewelry cleaner was hard to take.) I also avoid jewelry wear at the gas pump....I carry a few plastic disposible gloves in the glove box in case im caught with a low tank. One thing that gets me is jewelry storage...had a client who used to carry ALL of her jewelry in a plastic sandwich bag in her purse...pearls,diamonds,5 carat antique burmese ruby stickpin, and herringbone chains all crammed in this little bag.
Earrings, necklace, bracelet yes I wear all the time and hardly ever take it off.Date: 8/25/2008 2:12:22 AM

Do you wear you jewelry 24/7 ...sleeping ,showering,swimming,gardening,working...not worrying about bending, scratching, chipping or chemical damage...how many pieces do you wear at once?
Do you worry about removing pearls, opals, turquoise or emeralds?

On an average day, I wear my engagement ring and a necklace, sometimes a RHR.
I take my engagement ring off for sleep, put it on after my shower in the morning. I do take it off as a cautionary measure, chemicals and such... but it is platinum so I worry about it less than my WG/G jewelry.
I wear a necklace 24/7. I only put on other jewelry (bracelets, RHRs, etc.) if I''m going ''out.''
On vacation, I wear the e-ring 24/7... if I have to take it off my finger for hiking, swimming, etc. then I wear it on a chain around my neck. Misplacing it on vacation is much more likely to lead to permanent loss than misplacing it at home, so I don''t want to take the chance by taking it off. I even clean with it on my hand![]()
I plan to wear my wedding band (bezeled eternity) at all times, including sleep and shower. I''ll take it off for a quick clean post-shower/getting ready.
ETA: Here''s an old thread of mine I thought you might find interesting:
Poll: what kind of band(s) do you wear, and when?
That''s me exactly. As soon as I get home, I drop the handbag, kick off the shoes, put the jewelry in its box and lose the work clothes. I like to be comfortable at home, plus I don''t want to worry about damage.Date: 8/25/2008 2:36:38 AM

Definitely not all of the time. As soon as I get in the door I lock the door, put down my handbag, take my shoes off, and next is the jewelry. I wear it typically whenever I am out. And I wear..2 rings, a watch, a necklace, and 1 set of earrings..so that''s 5 pieces total if you count each earring separately. I definitely worry about chemical damage..since my rings are both white gold I try to take them off before dealing with chemicals. For example if I am using any kind of anti-bacterial spray or something on my hands I take the rings off until my hands dry, then put them back on. That''s better than leaving them on I think at least a bit better.![]()
