Do you SNOOZE?

I''m a light sleeper, and I POP awake at the first sound of my alarm. Dh has always been one to hit the snooze and doze once, twice, even 3 times.

He''s now getting up significantly earlier than I am, and I HATE that he uses the snooze. If he gets up right when the alarm goes off, I can usually fall back asleep while he showers and gets ready, but when he hits snooze, I lay there wide awake waiting for him to get up or it to go off again and never fall back asleep.

Never! I despise snooze. I can''t get back to sleep when I know the alarm is going to go off again in 10 minutes.

I feel you Sabine.

DH and I have talked (and sometimes fought) over this issue many, many times.

He doesn''t snooze when he has to get up for work - he''ll use the snooze when he wants to try to get up early on a day off. So to compromise, we made an agreement that if at 3 snoozes he is not going to wake up, he turns off the alarm. Of course, sometimes even at the first alarm I have no more chance of getting back to sleep - my mind starts racing with all the things I want to do/need to do, etc...but at the same time I didn''t want to take away his trying to get up early. I think 3 times is kind of generous - but it makes me feel like I''ve done the "fair" thing to accommodate both our preferences.

It was my new years resolution to snooze only once. I was doing good for a while, not snoozing at all. Lately, I''m going to bed too late. Ladies and gentlemen, I am...a SNOOZER!

DH and I used to fight over this so much! He hits snooze for up to an hour every morning, and it used to mean that I laid awake while the dog paced around wanting to go out while he went back to sleep.

He still hits snooze all morning, but now I have a job getting up much earlier than him, so it doesn''t bother me (and I have been known to abuse the snooze button myself now).

Guilty, I''m a snoozer and so is DH.

Our alarms go off at the same time. I hit snooze, he doesn''t. I sleep through the snooze. Wake up when I''m done sleeping and come into the office between 8-9. Pretty much everyone here is that way so it''s really relaxing knowing I can get the sleep I need...

I''m a horrible snoozer. I let it go at least 4 times some mornings! Luckily for DH, the quiet buzz of the radio is enough to wake me, and it never wakes him up, only the cats. Luckily for DH again, the cats only jump on me when it goes off, so he''s spared.

I snooze. Most of the time I just get up.

FI snoozes. I HATE IT. Like this morning he set his phone alarm (vibrate) and it went off for a good 4 minutes before I nudged him. Then his loud clock alarm went off. Sometimes I wake up to his alarms, sometimes not. Luckily I was able to go back to sleep---- until 11 :)

I have never ever hit a snooze button! I usually wake up about 5 minutes before the alarm goes off.

Ditto here! DH used to snooze, and I''d lie there awake. Since we are now waking up a lot earlier (his fault

) he gets up on the first alarm. Well, I get up, and then spend 5 minutes convincing him to get out of the bed...

I am a big time snoozer. I even have 2 alarm clocks. The first one I set 30 minutes fast and have it set to go off at 6:00am. It actually starts going off at 5:30. I snooze and snooze and then my second alarm clock goes off once. It has a different buzzer and it tells me that I have no more time and I must get up. It goes off at 7:00am. DH thinks it is absurd, but that is the way I do it and that was the way I did it long before him and I will continue to do it that way.

DH and I are both major snooze-button abusers. I usually hit it up to three times in the morning before I panic that I won''t be ready in time and jump out of bed. I think it''s really the panic that gets me up every day. I have to think that waking up that way is not the healthiest, but it''s the only thing that gets me out of bed, barring some sort of natural disaster.

I''m a SNOOZER

My FI HATES it and does not understand it at all. Luckily I''m down to one or two so it only puts me behind about 10 minutes in the morning.

I think some people just need to wake up in stages. My FI can jump right out of bed and get on with his day but I need some time to fully wake up. Just one of those things...

I get up around 5:15 to run for 6 miles before work. I set my alarm for 5:05 and 5:15 as often I will snooze the first! I won''t resnooze again though as I know the alarm will go off a minute later. I am a light sleeper too but feeling like I get an *extra* few minutes is great for some reason.

DH does not get up until 7:30 or 8:00 depending on his shift that day and rarely snoozes his alarm. Except for my days off I am already gone anyway!

We found that me using my timex watch alarm is a lot quieter than a regular alarm and less bothersome for him even if I snooze it. And I still hear it and can hit it off right away. He uses his iPhone alarm. We used to each have a regular alarm on our side of the bed and it was great - but alarms were too piercing!

We currently have different days off so I hear his alarm going when it is my turn to sleep in and vice versa too.

We set two alarms 15 mins apart. We generally turn off the first and snooze till the second.

Im a snoozer, but, my alarm is my cell so when I hit snooze, I also hit vibrate and just put it under my pillow so as not to disturb my husband.

No, I don''t snooze. And it''s annoying when DH snoozes 2-3 times everyday. I asked him why he doesn''t just set the alarm for 20-30 min later if that''s when he actually get up. His answer is then he will get up another 20-30 min later. sigh.

i hate being woken up by my own alarm, i can''t fathom wanting to hgeaer it go off more than once. i always wake up before it goes off, usuaally way too early and multiple times unfortunately. my husband never even sets an alarm, he is just always awake at the right time.

My husband used to do the snooze thing, but then I made him stop

95% of the time I get up before he does anyway. But on the random day that I could sleep a little bit, this light sleeper was absolutely not having it. It is so pointless to me anyway. Wouldn''t you rather just SLEEP that be waking up every 10 minutes to turn the darn thing off???

Oh my gosh, I am the worst snooze offender in the world! My alarm has two time settings you can use. Not only will I use both, but I will hit snooze on both. I''m pretty sure DH is ready to kill me at times.

Glad to hear I''m not alone, nor is my adamant in his ways dh.

I think even a vibrating cell phone would wake me up unfortunately.

Dh used the argument on me that if he set his alarm to the time he REALLY wanted to be up, he''d snooze then and end up late, so we compromised and tried me nudging him until he was awake when the later alarm went off, but he really didn''t like that, so it didn''t last long.

I guess I can''t complain too much as I did convince him to get rid of the loud, jarring alarm he had and he got one that starts off soft and gets progressively louder, and he hits the snooze while it''s still really quiet, so at least I''m not waking up in that "panicked" state that the loud alarm caused, but I really dislike starting my day as early as 4 AM when he has early rotations.

When I used to have to get up for work, I woke up to the radio rather than the buzzer...can''t stand the stupid buzzer.

Never, I hate that thing. I am a light sleeper after 5 kids, so when hubby gets up at 5:30 to go to work, I am up. I am so used to it now, even when he is not home I still wake up at 5:30.

I don''t hit snooze but my husband does...often! I usually turn the alarm off and put the TV on so I can watch and listen to the news while I get ready for work. My husband''s alarm has 3 settings, and I think he uses them all before getting up. He waits til the last possible minute, while I like to have plenty of time in the morning.

i''m a snooooooooooooooooozer. i have my alarm scheduled so i can hit it once for 20 min, and then a 10 min snooze.

DH and i actually use the same alarm clock, but he wakes up about 45 min before me. i think he snoozes, but honestly, my body is now accustomed to his alarm, and i don''t wake up from him anymore. he is so sweet and puts a pillow over my face when he wakes up....haha...sounds like he''s trying to kill me, but its really because he turns the light on.

I once read that a morning person will wake up before his alarm and get out of bed. A non-morning person will wake up before his alarm, not get out of bed, and still hit snooze repeatedly when the alarm goes off.

I am not a morning person.

Boyfriend generally has to wake up before me (oh, the glory of my student hours) and it does drive me crazy when he hits snooze for an hour, but I have no grounds to complain since I do the same to him whenever I have to wake up first.

For us, the Snooze feature won''t work because the animals are so impatient to go out.

I used too before I was married but since I get up earlier than DH; I quit. It wouldn''t be nice to him.

Haha so many great Snoozing Strategies everyone has in place! I''m a two-alarm kind of girl, with one across the room. I never fail to snooze for at least 20 minutes.

my DH has to leave for work and hour and a half before me, AND he snoozes

Not ok!

We''ve been married for 7 months and I am just now starting to fall back a sleep but it is not the same.
