I like pieces that are special and unique but also are real staples. I think a tennis bracelet with half a carats is amazing and if you can find a design you like then even better. I like antique style box bracelets personally.

I think I want something modern looking. Went back to the jeweller to browse and I REALLY liked a multi-shape bracelet he had as well (stones were a bit smaller than 50pts but he said I could always order it in the 50pt size)! I’m not 100% sold on it but it was gorgeous and I liked how it was a bit different from the rounds. Definitely swayed me towards the bracelet!

I think I’m about 80% convinced I need to go for the bracelet. Saw a much cheaper pair of formal earrings (still beautiful) and it might be the more prudent purchase tbh to do those for the earrings but later, and the multi-shape tennis bracelet first. I’ve also got several months of saving up ahead of me so I’ll keep an eye out if something new shows up :D

@AllAboardTheBlingTrain I have the idea of having an interchangeable bangle with different centre pieces.

This is an inspirational design, and I have a few design ideas of the centre piece, such as a LGD paved plate, a paved heart, etc...:

DK :))

I love the idea of an interchangeable bangle!

HI:

While I'd absolutely love to have these

I'd prolly buy some Tiffany Soleste stud earrings with a natural yellow diamond center that matches a Tiffany ring I have. I'd get more wear out of the yellow diamond studs. But if $$ were no option, I'd get both!

cheers--Sharon

Not to derail thread... wanted to make sure you knew that their ebay storefront has way more inventory than their website, including a couple of sets of studs as you've described.

Ooh these are pretty! A lot more delicate than I would go for though, I think people are just a lot louder and bolder with their jewellery choices here!

But if you were buying my vote is for the chandelier earrings over the studs ;)

I read this over again, and to clarify by “here” I meant where I live, that people tend to wear loud and bold jewellery here so for occasion wear I would do the same.

Part of why I like the earrings posted were that they’re delicate and pretty and I’d actually wear them a lot :D

I'd vote for the more everyday bracelet for two reasons. One is because one of your more recent posts said you already have a pair of high-end earrings for formal occasions. Two is because you'd get to see the bracelet when you wear it.

Agree with @seaurchin — I mainly buy jewelry to stare at it.

To answer the question… Everyday piece. I spend less on things I don’t wear that often. Lab diamonds have made it possible for me to get some pieces that I rarely wear, without sacrificing everything else.

I think I’ve mostly settled on the expensive everyday bracelet (and have started saving towards it!) but I’m still on the lookout for a more interesting design, so I can get the best of both worlds!

It’s a few months later, but do I have an update for you!

(Tagging @maryjane04 at her request)

A little background about what happened after I made this post… I was still hemming and hawing because while I knew a bracelet made a lot of practical sense for my jewellery wardrobe, I didn’t find the idea of a line of rounds exciting enough. Yes, a classic, but to me I think I’ve always sought out a way to show my personality in my jewellery. What was attracting me to the earrings I’d seen was less about how dramatic they were and more about how they seemed like something not a lot of people would own. I thought about a multi-shape bracelet as well, but I’ve seen those pretty commonly too now and it didn’t appeal to me as much because of that.

Anyway I was back in at the jeweller and I saw a bracelet that hadn’t been there before. Another customer had put it on hold but decided not to proceed with it. I saw it - and I fell in love lol. I knew this was it!! It was just over 18cts, mixed step cuts and pears/ovals, and basically kind of massive but also just so elegant. I fell in love with how it looked on my wrist. It’s also so unbelievably flexible it can be made into a choker with an extender - so I’ll also get a necklace out of the deal eventually!

It was more than I had planned to spend, but my jeweller told me I could put it on a soft hold and if I bought it within 6 months, he’d give me a discount. That sealed the deal for me. I was planning to pull the trigger in a few months, which would’ve given me enough of a fun-money buffer in case I decided to buy something else (I have a consumerism problem lol) but he called yesterday to say that he had another customer for it so I would have to buy it now or let it go.

Well. I couldn’t let it go.

And now it’s MINE!!!! I can’t take my eyes off my wrist. I love the interplay of the different types of cuts as they throw light so differently. I can imagine myself wearing it both formally and casually. I don’t think I’ll ever take it off!!

Aaaaahhhhh!

(I’ll be taking the image down soon, I’m sorry about that, so I hope everyone who wants to see it gets a chance!)

Wow @AllAboardTheBlingTrain thank god I checked in to PS to see any updates! And so glad I didn't "miss" this reveal.

This has got to be the most interesting tennis bracelet I've ever seen. Is that three pears as petals or is that two pears and one oval? Regardless that's epic! I'm so glad you got a deal too, that makes everything sweeter! Enjoy your new bracelet!

It’s ovals and pears, good catch!! I edited my previous post to highlight that there are also ovals in there. The oval is set with 3 prongs though, which I think gives it a bit of a pear-like appearance but I like the fullness from the oval.

Isn’t it super cool? And the diamonds in the front are CHUNKY! The ECs are all approximately 1ct each! In the back they do get a bit smaller and the petals get much smaller, that’s how you end up with 18cts overall, but you don’t notice it honestly. They go super well with my hoops too haha. Now all I need is a pear and/or oval ring ;)2 but I’m banned for the foreseeable future!

Thank you for the compliment! I am over the moon!!

That's so cool @AllAboardTheBlingTrain I don't think I've seen another tennis bracelet like this. Did they make a hidden clasp with the petals? Hahaha yes you need a pear or oval ring! Or why not both lol. Like a toi et moi lol.

Yes! The clasp is hidden behind the petals in the back.

I would love a pear and oval toi et moi, but there’s no way I can even THINK of one rn for a long, long time :lol-2:

Btw every time you mention you haven’t seen a bracelet like this it makes me really happy. I love having unusual jewellery. I know this one wasn’t my design but still :D

Wow! Unique but beautiful. I can see why you had to make it your own. It looks fabulous on your wrist and I hope you enjoy this piece for many years to come - great choice!!

You know I love when someone gets adventurous with jewellery. It shows a kind of confidence that is rarely seen to step outside the box.

In real life most people I know only have a round or oval ER. And tennis bracelets are only ever in rounds lol. So I love seeing things like this so I can live vicariously.

You've made my day, honestly! I love, love, love jewellery design. It's my hobby. I want to wear jewellery that makes people sit up and ask me "where did you get that?" I do have a few classic things, like round studs and a round pendant, but I have a bunch of jackets that I usually wear my studs with so I can keep mixing it up, and the round pendant is literally because it was an inherited stone. And every other piece of jewellery I have has some unusual feature - even if it's something most people won't see, like the basket.

I want to always stand out from a crowd! So I swear when you say this stuff you make my day.

I'm super single at the moment so I don't know what I'd do for an e-ring if the time comes, but about the only thing I know is that I probably wouldn't do a round solitaire

Wow! This is gorgeous @AllAboardTheBlingTrain ! :kiss2:

Just curious...
Do most people consider this a tennis bracelet? I don't think of it as a tennis bracelet...but what do others think?

Thank you!!

I guess it technically isn’t a tennis bracelet, but it is a line bracelet? But I basically consider all flexible bracelets with diamonds all the way around a tennis bracelet :D

Wow I love it! Will this be a daily wear or special occasion for you?

You made the right choice. I go for joy when choosing jewelry, and the tennis bracelet didn’t make you light up. I love your unusual and very fun bracelet.

That is such a great choice! I forgot what I'm comparing it to, tbh, but that's sensational. Looks traditional and contemporary at the same time. I could see having fun staring at that!

Thank you so much! You’re right, the tennis bracelet didn’t feel like me. It might even have been the “right choice” for most people but I feel like I would’ve gotten bored with it. I’m glad I didn’t go for it and I waited until this beauty came along ❤️

Such a great compliment, thank you! I didn’t post pictures of what I was comparing it to, but it was basically two tennis bracelets - one a classic with rounds, 50pts each; one a multi-shape tennis, also 50pts each. Neither excited me as much as this one did though!

I’ve spent the whole day staring at it :D
