If not, you should.
If you don't Google can track your every move, store the data and sell it to others.

Just using Google to search, or watching youtube videos is no problem, but actually logging into one of Google's products like gmail or logging into a Youtube acct you own gives Google the right to spy on your every move and make money from it.

This is my understanding of how it is now that their new privacy policy started.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Even then, I don't trust them.
I keep myself logged out of Google's products unless I'm actually using one.

No, I am almost always logged into my gmail account so I can check email on my phone when I can't get on my laptop or computer at work. I have my work emails filtered into my gmail account because it's a time-saver and all around more easy for me. Until Google starts using its power for evil, I really don't care if they sell my search info or demographic info and make money off me.

Yup, this. I'm always on email (and gchat). I noticed they know I'm engaged, pregnant, etc based on the ads I get. *shrug*

Plus (Kenny), I thought that neat trick you taught us several weeks ago made it impossible for Google to continue using our info? I don't have ads at all anymore within my gmail account since I did that. So is this particular PSA for people who didn't make the deadline?

Yes, my understanding is if you did that opt out thingie before the deadline you should not have to worry.
I still don't trust Google.

I'm just OCD and brain damaged.
I still don't trust Google since sooooooooooooooooooooooo many of trillions of dollars are at stake, and how would I know if they violated their own privacy policies.

BTW, did you know that if you took the time to actually read every privacy policy you are presented with before agreeing with it, it would take you about 250 working hours, or about 30 working days per year . . .

The world's gone crazy!

:appl:  Hahahaha, "OCD and brain damaged"! You are very funny today  !

True, nothing is really private anymore. You'd have to go completely off the grid and I think it would be really difficult to stay in touch with society and perhaps sanity if one made that choice.

I log out after using my gmail and facebook accounts. I started doing so after one day, I was reading google news and saw in the corner that it was showing articles some of my friends had recently read.

yes, i have a Youtube account but no Gmail account.

I leave myself logged in for my own personal convenience. I really dont mind that I get ads about things that are relative to my life. If google wants to make money off me I am ok with that too. More power to 'em. As far as I am concerned google makes my life easy so if they want to make a couple bucks ok.

I suppose the biggest reason that I am not concerned is because I have nothing to hide. I dont watch videos that I am ashamed of and I dont search for things that are embarrassing to me or my family.

I do not trust them, not nohow. I go a step further, using firefox for all my regular stuff and safari only for gmail and youtube. Still I delete history, empty cache, and wipe out cookies after every login. for banking ebay and paypal I start with a fresh browser and wipe everything after, close browser and reopen before going on to other sites.
