2 story
5200 sq ft
too much house for the 2 of us
no basement - this is Texas, we'd sink!!

assuming some day we will move, but it's paid for and that's a good feeling
no wonder people say...everything is BIGGER in Texas...

I live in a 2400 square foot FOUR story townhouse. Ya wanna talk about aching knees...!!! Last spring with my torn ACL I would have traded this thing for a single level studio apartment in a heartbeat!

We have a one level 1200 sq ft. condo in a 5 unit building. No basement, but we do have a storage unit outside and one garage spot.

We live in a one story apartment, I believe about 800 sq ft, 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom. I haven't seen any non-two story houses in our area so in the future we will look for a 2 story with at least 4 bedroom/3baths.

Two story Four Square built in the 1920s. It's about 2,000 square feet with an unfinished basement and walk up attic. I feel like the square footage would go *much further* in a one story. A one story is nice BUT only if living space and bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house.

1 story 1500 bungalow. So it is 1 story, but we are considering renovating the attic to essentially make it a 2 story, or at least have bonus space. Has anyone done this? What do other people think, does it make the house more or less sellable, for example if a bedroom is put up there? So hard to decide.

Well...we are "in between" houses.
The house we just rented out is 1400 sq ft, 3 br, 1.5 ba split level. I loved having two great room areas...when DH wanted to watch sports, he would head down to his little man cave in the lower level.
the house we live in is a 1 br, 1 ba single story with a basement. Not sure on sq footage, but its a little thing. We have waaaay too much stuff to put in it, but live rent free, so it works. Its really a house tho, not an apt or condo. I had never seen a 1 br house before!
We are now looking at houses to buy, and are looking at 3-4 br, 2.5 ba, approx 2500sqft. In my area, houses and land are pretty cheap.

The house we're in right now is just over 4000 square feet and is 4 stories. Basement is rec room, ayi room, laundry room, bathroom, and machine room. Attic is one big space about 800 square feet that is pretty open but with cool rafters that we have a storage area, a kids computer area, an office area for me, one for husband and then the largest area has a couch and two chaise lounges with a TV and our gaming systems. We call our attic Nerdvana. It's 4 bedrooms 3.5 bathrooms.

One of our houses in America is 1 story 1200 square foot 3br/2ba ranch style starter home and the other is 1600 (2200 if you include the basement) and 3 stories if you include the basement. The attic there is unfinished and the basement is *mostly* finished. Finished enough to have a TV gaming area for the kids as well as a play area and a HUGE storage area and single garage.
