Do you know....

I told a co-worker one time that I buy a lot of my jewelry in pawn shops and for some reason she keeps bringing that up. The last time she made a comment about it in a group of people I told her that when I retire from this state job, I hope to work in a pawn shop and sell LOTS of jewelry! She's disrespecting me when she says it but don't let the gray hair fool you, I may talk slow but I'm NOT slow. I know jealousy when I hear it. (I proudly wear all my jewelry to work.) By the way, this was said by a woman wearing a "chocolate" diamond from a chain store and thought it was the best thing ever. But me, being as nice as I am, didn't utter a word.

your right she's jellouse
and / or unhappy in her own life so she makes you the fall guy so she feels better about herself
i had a co-worker the same
always got particlaru bit*chy around the time a big bill was due as money problems were her catalyst
i too chose to say nothing which im sure made her think i was too dumb to notice
but as the saying goes its more important to be nice, than to be right

You are so right. What I can’t get over is that if someone asks me my opinion on jewelry, I’ll gladly help them. I am on a Facebook group about jewelry and someone said one time they could never buy jewelry from a pawn shop knowing they were however sold it had a financial crisis and probably didn’t want to part with it. I replied that I like to think I am rescuing a treasured piece, which is exactly what I am doing.

My youngest daughter definitely gets it from me so much so she proceeded to tell me I can’t sell any of my jewelry! Of course there was a discussion about who it actually belongs to

I have all boys!!! One is married, one is divorced and the youngest is engaged to be married this year. The youngest already knows he is in charge of the dispersal of my jewelry when my time comes and not all of it will go to family. Two young ladies who are dear to me will be able to choose what they like and a couple of particular pieces I want them to have. I gave my married son the diamonds for his wife’s wedding set, so she has hers…and that’s all I have to say about that.

in panic and desperation i once sold a really nice (when quality was better at main street jewlers) diamond ring at cash converters to buy a Bruce Springsteen ticket
(i did not understand they hold tickets back to sell closer to the day)

anyway i know i got ripped off and yes the concert was worth it but ive never really got over it
but i always hope someone bought it to propose with, and that they are still happy together
