Hello,

Thank so much for reading! In my search for a setting (for a yellow square radient, between 1 to 2 ct) I have moved from pave halo settings, to Kretchmer helix (http://www.stevenkretchmer.com/tension/tension.html) , to Mark Schneider''s beloved (http://www.markschneiderdesign.com/detail.asp?recid=20&ringname=Beloved). I love tension, and particulary Kretchmer (even traveled across the US to see Pearlmen''s in MI), but can not pay the price for the Kretchmer now. I tried Gelin & Abaci, but did not like the asthetics as much (lovely rings, just not right for my eye).

SO, my love and I both liked the look of the beloved, sits tall, open-ish carriage, and the price is in our range, but I feel like I need to see more options before settling, it just doesnt stop me in my tracks right now. I wish the prongs were more delicate and you could see more of the diamond from the side (plus it is for a round). The following is going to sound weird but this is the best I can describe what I am looking for:

I am looking for a square solitare setting that has a dramatic carriage, is "different/unique/modern" (i feel like so many people say that....but sigh).. I like high profiles, and twisty, delicate, artistic metal working. I pefer thinner shanks, but am really open to anything. Im looking for white gold and up to $900.00. Not too much to ask...ha!

DO you have any pictures you could share? Designers? links to other threads?

Here are some more pieces that catch my eye for reference
(http://www.maevona.com/) the Canna, but not oriented like that
Same sight but the Lismore ....LOVE IT LOVE IT, but no rose gold...

Thank you for your time, I apreciate your effort and aid!!!

Hmm..its not tension, but what about the Vatche X prong for a princess/square?
Its what I thought about immediately from your description..

Thank you so much! Your one picture sent me on a 2 day hunt, and now have Vache settings comming to a local jeweler to look at! Your pic was dead on....I really like the height of Vache''s crown settings, but dont see any pictures with a square crown setting.

-thanks again!

You''re welcome ! I think you will like them, they are very nice quality settings - if you''re interested, you can do a search here on PS for Vatche X-prong, as a number of members have this setting.

I definitely love an interesting carriage (I think that is what its called...?). I appreciate the picture links!

Have you posted any pictures of your X prong online I could see?

I also found the Vatche Aurora and am dying to see more photos but they seem to be scarce.

I also think I like prongs that frame the corners, I think it''ll highlight the square of the diamond, but i do not see this with Vatche settings...any suggestions/comments??

Thanks again!

Also-

I like a thinner shank, I heard Vatche is nice about altering things like that, but it also makes me wonder if I should be looking at something else with a similar "interesting" carriage...any suggestions?
Thank you for your time!

Here''s the latest link to my ring. (2nd set of pics on page 2) For size reference, I wear a 5.5, and the stone is 7.25 in diameter. The band is about 3.5mm wide on the part that actually sits on your finger.

As for a bit thinner band with a nice basket (that''s what we call it, but it might be referred to as carriage in other areas), this is one of my absolute favorites.

I''m not clear on what you mean by a prong that "frames" the corner. Do you mean something like this?

Thank you for posting your ring! It is stunning!!! As an update I decided to not go with Vatche, they did not have dealers in my town and a store that was going to accept their sent pieces was going to charge us for shipping & insurance. I can''t blame them! But with settings costing between $500-$900 the costs to pay for them to come in would be 1/10th of the ring....We looked around at other stores and have actually changed minds once more, to the Varna Contessa (www.varna.com, reale section st-126) OR this one, https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/yay-were-engaged-proposal-on-a-summit-between-st-moritz-and-klosters-ring-pics.96908/. It is a little too pricey for us but I hope to work with WhiteFlash and see what we can come up with! (I am not super happy about the side stones, maybe remove them, maybe flop the shank over, maybe make them smaller..., well see)
Thanks Again!!
