Do you hide goodies from your husband so he doesn''t. . .

I always buy an extra one for my husband.

If it''s something bought for the both of us, I need to get in and have some while I can or it''ll be gone before I know it. If it''s a treat especially for me, he may eat a little, but certainly not the whole thing. He knows better.

I don''t hide things, but if he ate something I had bought especially because I loved it and wanted it, I totally would. What gets me with DH is that he''ll eat ALL the leftovers while I''m not paying attention. By saying "not paying attention", I mean he''ll eat it for breakfast and lunch and when I go into the fridge for dinner, it''ll be gone. Makes me CRAZY. He''ll eat it all and have *no* clue that maybe I wanted some of it for a meal other than breakfast or lunch.

Now I do buy him things he loves and hide them from him. He''ll eat it all and it''ll be gone so I try to ration him a bit.

I definitely tend to hide stuff, especially if I haven''t had a chance to tell him I''m saving it for myself. If he knows I''m saving it for myself then he usually leaves it alone, but if he doesn''t know, its fair game...

We moslty don''t goodies on the house, and when we have some we share 50 - 50, After he eats his half, then he want''s to do another 50 - 50 of my half
9.gif
, I don''t really mind because I don''t like sweets that much, when we are having dinner, they I have to stop him for eat mine, since I''m a slow eatter, If I don''t stop him, I will end up being hungry
11.gif

My husband asks me to share, and I usually do.

Mr. Kama always saves his treats to bring home and share with me! If there''s a piece of chocolate lying around, he''d assume (correctly) that it''s mine and wont touch it unless I offer - he might ask me in a cute voice if I was down to sharing
3.gif

That said, I always share my treats with him and my brother. And if I wanted to eat the entire of whatever it was I bought, I ALWAYS buy another for Mr. Kama and one for my brother (Lil bro lives with us, so I can''t eat something yummy without giving some to him too!). I dont think I''ve ever bought a treat just for myself!

Uh, no.

If I buy something for myself, I will also buy something for him. But he treats me to special nibbles far more than I treat him. He''ll go to the store more often and bring back goodies he thinks I''ll like. Last night it was chocolate ice cream, strawberries, and Lite Cool Whip. And it was good.

Before Easter, he scoured every store in the area for my favorite spicy Brach''s jelly beans. He finally found them; he was so proud of himself. He''s sweet that way.

Whatever is in the pantry is fair game for either of us.
How sweet!

If DH knows I''ve saved sa special treat in the fridge, he won''t eat it. I have a much bigger sweet tooth than he does, too. HOWEVER - he loves to eat everything else off my plate - food, sandwiches, drinks, even water - because he says it tastes better.
20.gif
Most of the time he does it just to annoy me - and I end up squealing at him and covering my food.

DH also thinks I eat the shared snacks (especially chips - Tortilla and Sun chips) too quickly, and then he doesn''t get any (sometimes true). So sometimes he hides them from me in a secret hiding place, which I have yet to find.
32.gif
And then he brings them out when I ask. So annoying! I hate not having ready access to snacks.

I don''t hide them, but I should.
I think my husband is a *real* chocoholic, he cannot not eat chocolate if it''s in the house.
I knew he had a sweet tooth before we married and moved in together, but I had no idea how serious it was. Let''s just say that I made the mistake of buying our Halloween candy a week early this year. It was one of those bags with over one hundred mini Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Butterfinger bars, and the like. I had to buy an entirely new bag on Halloween day because we had nothing left.

The kicker? He''s slim and muscular, and his bloodwork is just fine. (Thank goodness, but really, how unfair!)

Oh, I wanted to add...I think this is a really interesting topic...I actually feel like one of the reasons I had food issues growing up was because when we did have snack food in the house, my dad or brother would eat it. I always felt like I had to eat it right away or else miss out, and I would end up eating more than I really wanted. It became a bit of a competition as to who could eat it first. I am soooo much happier now feeling like I don''t have to worry about eating things before they disappear.

Sabine, I have a similar complex from my dad''s eating habits... he would ''steal'' food off our plates if we didn''t finish it before he was done with his plate. I never realized how QUICKLY I ate until I got to college and was eating around friends instead of my family! It''s so bad, I''m still the first one to finish at any meal
38.gif

I have the exact same issue. My dad always did that and I eat so fast! In work today, my colleague was like go and eat your lunch..eh I''d already eaten it-it just took me about a minute!

Oh, yes! My husband is a human garbage disposal! (and unlike me, can stay perfectly fit and healthy while eating whatever he wants

)

The only thing I don''t have to worry about is cadbury creme eggs - he knows if he touches them, he is in BIG BIG trouble!

cadbury creme eggs! YUMMMMMMMMM! i got back on tuesday from 2 weeks in LA and Sedona AZ - and i brought tim back a little collection of things - on top being a cadbury creme egg. they''re SACRED in this house! i gave his to him at 11.30pm - and it was gone at 11.31. mine is still sitting in a glass bowl in our bedroom, and tim won''t touch it cause he knows it''s mine.

what he does eat, tho, are more obscure things; i cant keep raisins in the house - dry crackers are a favorite - leftovers - choc chips for cooking. anything that isnt clearly mine or designated for something else. he wont touch things he knows are mine (tho if i get something for me, i''ll always get something for him), but he''ll definitely search the pantry till he finds something to snack on.

Ugh! Mine is the same way. 6'' and sometimes weighs only 165 when he is not making sure he eats all the time. I can''t keep ANY food in the house. I mean anything. It''s so frustrating because he will eat all the time. When we shop he will say he doesn''t want this or that, but as soon as it is in the house I catch him in the kitchen eating! I have to buy things that I know he doesn''t like so that I can save things for myself.

Lol, mia! Oh, mine is nearly 6'' and weighs 170! I feel your pain. The boy can take in 4000 calories a day in food and beer and not gain a pound!

And whitby, I am impressed at your willpower. I would have finished that egg about the same time your husband did!

I gain the most weight at Easter time for just that reason. :D

FI is reactive hypoglycemic so he can''t eat sugary treats- I never need to worry about them going ''missing''.
Although, he eats everything else in site.. we will do our weekly shopping and half way through the week the cupboards are bare because FI "Needs to eat alot so my muscles get bigger!!!"

Haha! We have DH twins! I am guessing 4000 calories is around what my DH can do on a good day of eating. He eats twice as much as me in a given meal. It''s amazing. Luckily he is also a bit of a health nut so a lot of it is fruits, vegetables, and lean meats.

So funny!!!

We actually don''t like each other''s special treats so we''re both safe. We can leave them out and the other person basically avoids it like nasty socks. He likes chips/dips, I like all kinds of sweet stuff. Once in awhile we''ll both eat a Reeses.

DH is always surprising me with my favorite treats. I eat them in a flash. If he''s not careful, I''ll go for HIS treats, too, if he hasn''t hidden them from me.

I usually buy all the grocery's/treats and it's for all of our family. I have hidden a package of peanut m&m's a couple of times. I place them in the back of the pantry b/c like onedrop my hubby only eats what he can see without moving anything around
37.gif
Of course, if he finds them then I would always share

My FI likes to invoke the 24 hour rule on a regular basis - if I havn''t eaten my stash in 24 hours since bringing it into the house, it becomes his property.

He quite often changes this rule to the ''10 minute rule'' if he is really after some choccy.

He is a SERIOUS chocoholic - he has banned me from keeping cooking chocolate in the house cos he will eat it. If I want to bake, I need to go out and get it fresh before I use it. He is useless when it comes to chocolate.

If there is some leftover from the previous night, he will devour it when he first wakes up, before coffee or breaky or anything. He is a chocolate monster I swear!!!!

My mom does this. She has chocolate stashed all over the house. My mom only likes to have a piece now and again, but if my dad knows about them, the choc is gone in HOURS! haha! So whenever I look for scissors or tape, I'm bound to discover chocolate hidden away. The joke is, if my mom croaks, we'd find candy all over the place while going through her things.

And my dad finds them from time to time... and EATS THEM ALL. Like my mom just forgot about her candy. She gets in a huff and says she has to find a new hiding place.

Me, I don't hide anything... because we don't have any temptation stuff around... but, who knows... I might eventually do what my mom does.

My fiance HATES chocolate. Won''t touch the stuff.

Feel free to be jealous, ladies!

I never understood how someone could HATE chocolate? How????!!!! It''s so

Whoa, this is sooooo why I have no interest in living with anyone. I can''t imagine having to "hide" anything from another adult. If that''s what life is like with a partner, count me out. See when I read these posts I don''t see anything cute or adorable about it
33.gif
I guess it''s true what they say "love is blind"...I''d be smacking the guy upside the head and he would never take anything that wasn''t his again
