Do you have a love hate relationship with a piece of your jewlwey?

My trinity ring. I wear it daily as a right hand ring and it’s too big most of the time. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve felt it rolling off my finger. I bought a stacking band to fix the issue but prefer the look of the ring alone. I should just bite the bullet and buy the next size down.

My diamond huggies. I feel like they get lost in my hair. I wear them more since I bought small baroque pearl detachable drops for them. The drops really suit them but I don’t get as much wear out of the huggies as I’d like.

I feel like I have a love-hate relationship with every diamond ring I have ever owned. They would look completely different under the same exact lighting, making me question if I should have gone with a different stone, and the next time I look at, it takes my breath away. To overcome my own finger insecurities I put them on my husbands hand to get another perspective (he has skinny slender fingers :Up_to_something:) I think the guilt of spending so much money makes me critical of my purchases! Oh these mental games!

I had a love hate relationship with my OEC diamond. It had great finger coverage and faced up blindingly white. In most lights, it was gorgeous. However the office light where I spent most of the day, the diamond was sort of meh..... Of course when one fault bothers you, often others follow. I realized the profile was not all that pleasing. The crown was way too shallow. The color was very evident from the side (and not in in a lovely vanilla sort of way either). Though the dealer was adamant the stone was an OEC, I really think it was more likely early transitional. Nevertheless there were days that I LOVED that diamond and days I did not. I sold the diamond this year to a different dealer and made back basically what I had paid for it so the love hate relationship ended amicably. I still think OECs are beautiful but I should have spent more time on selecting the right OEC.

I developed a new rule concerning jewelry like such, I give the piece one week of good wear & if some part of me feels even slightly "meh" about it it gets the boot and I sell it!

Plus there is something SO satisfying about using that money to build or purchase new pieces that are perfect in your eyes and watching your collection become so refined!

I'm truly addicted to it & I no longer mindlessly purchase items just because they're gold & a good deal.
