My daughter has a favorite.. and I have a "least" favorite..

He's so pretty, his coat is so soft... but he's so loud and he never stops talking or chewing the tub facets (he has three bowls of water all filled with his toys)..no wonder he is thirsty... he gets on my bed and kneads for hours..... he's such a pest... he steals jewelry, I have to keep it all put away, he broke a watch he knocked on the bathroom floor playing with it, he talks when I am on the phone... I have a home office and every conference call he has something to say.. he bites my feet... and he's three years old..when will it end? To think... I picked a bengal for my daughter because they don't shed as much..which he doesn't, one bonus. And lets not forget.. he loves DH the best.. talks to him when he comes home too. Anybody want a cat?
Not only he is beautiful, but he sounds SO much like my beloved Pochi that I want to steal him

If he were not my daughter's I would drive him to you myself. His name is Cashmere. But we just call him "The Terrorist"

It does help that he is so pretty. I tease my daughter that he would make a lovely hat... :nono:

Nope. They have very different personalities but I love them both the same!

One is getting old and it upsets me so much to even think of him dying that I don't know how I'm doing to handle it when he does :blackeye:

PICTURES! I love everyone's pictures!

Here are our furbabies:

Willie, our nine-year-old Shih Tzu

Bailee, our four-year-old Pit Bull mix
IMG_7140.jpg
The Boys--Vince, Geddy, and Manny. They'll be seven-years-old this summer.
IMG_0541.jpg
They all cuddle together, but we find Bailee and Manny together the most. This is my current favorite picture of these two.

Awww,he is so cute!Believe me,I feel for you.Nico, our birman,is absolutely beautiful, but I would give anything to have the chance to turn back and not get him. It's not fair for him,nor for us.He's unhappy and I'm unhappy. My husband just doesn't care,he love the cat and doesn't see the big deal. But Nico is 1-depressed and 2-just terrified of anyone and everyone that gets near him 3-peeing around like there is no tomorrow.Since the floors are very old and porous, and he also pee on the walls,I've really had enough of it.Darn his blue eyes

Yay pics! This is my slightly elderly little fella all curled up for a nap

And my teenager! He would play catch until he keeled over if someone would play with him!

I'll come back with better ones - they're on my phone and it's dead right now.

I don't want to have a favorite, but I do. It's probably not fair to the other dog, but one is a young and crazy dog with anxiety issues and the other is a 6 year old quiet snuggle bug. I love them both to death, but I can't help it - i prefer the older one. Perhaps when my young one grows out of her crazy puppiness, I will feel differently.

ASU.... thank goodness Cashmere is still using the litter box... it would be hard to let him stay... with all his other challenges

I love, love your blind kitty..he's so cute!!!!

I love it when Pser's get real. :D I felt like that when my black cat sprayed the Christmas tree 87 times. . .

I was at a cat show yesterday, and I would like to say; don't ever get a Russian Blue. I don't know if this is the way they all are, but the ones at the show were so in your face, grabbing attention, and meowing constantly, that it set my teeth on edge. They were put into the judging cages and acted so incensed; they we literally reaching out to passersby and grabbing them, and demanding to be removed from the cages. It was hilarious to some, but I couldn't imagine living with that 24/7. I'm sure your guy is a lot nicer than that, but I tucked this away as "breed I will not get". All the other cats were quiet and cooperative, but these guys were just troublemakers!

I didn't see any Bengals, but yours is really gorgeous. . .

Juba is my favorite because he is my 1st Savannah cat and he is a laid-back cuddle bug
Taji is my favorite because he is my 2nd Savannah cat and is full of pi$$ & vinegar.
Maliik is my favorite because he is my 3rd Savannah and scares away unwanted visitors.

LOL Mayk. You need one of these. It is our le cage aux folles ;))

Look to your left. That's her. Always & forever. I can't imagine loving another dog as much as I love the Toots. I loved my childhood dog as much probably but it's been 30+years since she passed so ... Toots is #1.

Despite not being a cat person, I've also had four cats -- two were mine & have passed -- two were DH's and are still with us. I'm affectionate with them and take good & pricey care of them ... but it's not *quite* the same connection I've had w/both of my *dogs*. I'll say this ... DH's cats are both very pushy and aggressive and don't seem to know/care when they're hurting people and seem so freakin' selfish all the time. Whereas our adorable PUP is a LOVE SLUG who is so happy and funny and a big ol' flirt all the time. She'll sit and lick my forehead if she thinks I'm upset. I mean -- who WOULDN'T adore that?

Matata.... I LOVE you Snow Lepoard.. or Savannah... on they are so beautiful... I also love your cage.. actually we have to put Cashmere on the back porch at night (which is screened in) He's so loud at night he makes us crazy. When it's cold he has to be put in the garage... he will not leave us alone at night...

ilander... I feel your pain... but don't you think he would make a lovely hat or ear muffs

I only love him...when he's asleep and he looks so sweet with one paw over his face.... I know...when he wakes up the BEAST comes out!!!!

Cashmere needs another high energy buddy to keep him company -- either another Bengal or a Savannah. I can almost guarantee that he would be easier to live with if you got him his own cat.

Oh.. but it would just be me... my daughter and two cats.. my DH would kill me.. while he loves him.. he's also allegeric so it's a bit of a challenge to have more than one.... and keep his allergies under control... .. .. what he needs is a dog.. he loves dogs!!! I have a over-night nanny for when I travel and she brings her Border Collie with her and they play until they are both exhausted..he is so excited when Suri gets here... and depressed after she leaves...

All of our pets are leftovers from the kids. My daughter's parakeet is definitely my favorite. I call him "Bird". Here we are watching TV together.

The other animals are her pet box turtle and my son's bearded dragon. Fortunately for them, my husband enjoys caring for them.

Oh Missy-that's a very moving video.

Thank you lulu. I know for people who didn't know him it might not be interesting to watch so thanks for watching it. ::)

And wow to all the great looking pets that are in the PS family! That's a lot of good looking in this thread!
MayK, your least favorite is OMG gorgeous! I guess he doesn't have to work on his personality because he is so good looking

I have a favorite for each type, but I don't treat them differently. They all get the same love and affection. Sasha is my favorite dog b/c she was mine, and she loves her mommy and she has such a great personality. But Scout is such a sweet and tolerant little dog, I love the way he waggles when he wags his tail. Dixie is my running buddy, and she loves us both. With the cats, Aspen is by far my favorite. he LOVES to have me hold him and cuddle and he purrs and purrs and he's so big and cuddly. Phantom I love, but he is a typical black cat, talkative and too BUSY to be held. I love playing with him though hehe. With the horses, Rou is always my favorite. He's my old man and he's given me all he has over the years and was my best friend as a teenager. I would not ever ever let him go. I will say he does get spoiled but it's b/c in his old age he needs the extra.

Yes, unfortunately some animals are more loveable than others.
When I had Betty (chow mix) I looked forward to seeing her when coming home from work, and would spend time just sitting and petting and holding her, just made me feel good like everything was right in the world. And she was so good and loving around the kids it was a joy just seeing them interact. We have Chuck, and while he is very much a part of the family, I don't get that sense of relaxation from him, rather he often raises my stress level :naughty: .
Ah well.

Well, we have one cat, two fish and two frogs, and it appears the fish and frogs don't know they're not the favorites so all is okay.

We've always had more than one cat so having one (right now) makes things A LOT easier as he's the one everyone is always calling to and giving attention to and when company comes over, they all flock to him because he's a sleek, black, cool looking cat. He has his favorite family members, though, and it seems that all the cats we've had generally go to the same two people... ;))

Here he is...

Haven - my dh would be flipping out if he saw your cat photo. THREE cats on the table. lol! We've tried everything in the world to get our cat to drink from a water bowl, but he flat out refuses and will ONLY drink from a betta fish bowl we have on the counter so our cat is constantly jumping up there and DH is constantly telling him to get down. Our cat's ears go back but he's not at all intimidated by Dh's freaking out. lol DH loves the cat, so he'll clap his hands, yell, "get down, 'cat'!", but then do nothing more to prevent the habit...It's funny because the two of them have been battling this for nearly 1.5 years and every time the routine goes the same.

It's unfair but yes, there are favourites.

My husband and I have 3 cats. The youngest, a calico is my favourite. She's feisty, smart, and really cute. She also follows me everywhere. My husband likes the other two cats equally, while he dislikes Simba, because she wakes him up by tearing paper to bits in the middle of the night. I figure it evens things out. The cats are not treated differently in the sense that I play with them whenever they want, but Simba is only 1.5 years old, and still in the kitten stage so she is always demanding more attention. The other cats are 7 and 9 years old, so they are quiet and like to sleep.

Asu: Your silver cat is beautiful! He reminds me of my beloved Zebra that recently passed away.

Porridge: Your dog is so cute!!!!!! I'm overwhelmed by cuteness.

Edited double post.

HAHAHAHAHA! This scene is so funny. Sorry, I don't mean to laugh at your husband, but I can just picture this in my head.

My own husband is a germaphobe, so we spend A LOT of time wiping, spraying, vacuuming, and sweeping. :) He learned long ago that those cats are going to go wherever they darn well please, and we don't have one bit of control over that. :cheeky:

I love your black kitty. Black cats are my favorite. I had a black cat best friend from age 10 to 28, Mazi. She slept on my chest every single night for those 18 years. Followed me everywhere around the house, yapping and yapping at me. She was truly *my* kitty. I still miss her every day.

We have two cats and they have such different personalities. I love them both for different reasons. It's funny though, the male pays more attention to me more often (we're playing fetch right now!) and the female snuggles with my husband all the time. Apparently, *they* have their favorites.

Oh yaaaay pet pix. I was hoping for another pet thread :)

Well, JM had his dog and I had mine when we met. Indeed, I'd just adopted my cocker Molly and was looking for a vet and he was who I found :appl: I adopted a dog and ended up with the vet, his dog and his three children - you never do know what's (or who's) around the corner.

Anyhoo... so much tho I love Bobsie the border collie to bits, I have to say that Molls has my heart, she was in such a desperate state when I got her, heart breaking pix put online by the animal shelter who had her. And she brought us together - nearly three years ago now.... Time flies. Well, well, she's in a good space now and so .... now to pixxxx

I love each one differently because their personalities are so different, but I can tell you that the pets have favourites.

Dwarf bunny's favourite was DH. He crossed the rainbow bridge at 8.5 yrs old. He was gentle and gave kisses - only to DH though...

Mini-lop - I was his favourite :D We just lost him a month ago at the age of 7.5 - I cried every day for almost 2 weeks straight and still break down occasionally ;( He was very playful and behaved more like a dog than a rabbit (played with toys, did tricks)

Mini-goldendoodle - at home, I'm his favourite and outside of the house, DH is his favourite. He will be turning 7 this year and I swear has a split personality. Most of the time he is super sweet and almost a permanent fixture on your lap, but geez he can get a streak of Jerk in him.

I know it's irrational, but I have this huge fear that I will lose another pet when a Nicholas Cage/Ghost Rider movie comes out. When my dwarf bunny passed away, we had tickets to the first Ghost Rider movie. When we lost our mini-lop, Ghost Rider 2 came out. I'm telling you, there better not be a third Ghost Rider movie.

My oldest cat has a special "privileged" place in the household. But it's because he's got such a great personality. I love all my cats, but my Duncan is very much put on a pedestal by most Mommy and Daddy. He doesn't have a favorite either, he's happiest when he's with both of us.

My Hally is a troublemaker
My Merlin is well... dumb and a troublemaker
My Frodo is quirky and loves Duncan more than any thing else.
My Lucy bites.

Duncan is special because of the way he relates to us and the others in the house.
