Years ago, maybe 20 years even, I bought a bag of old watch movements because of my “watch thing”. They had been sitting in a box ever since. Feeling a little bit crafty I thought I could make some bracelets out of them. Which I did, lots of them.
It was a lot of fun, with the different shaped parts and most of them have ruby jewels in them.
When I showed them to DD she said they were creepy because of all the holes in them.

Not creepy to me.

They look artsy, vintage, unique, inventive and timeless (see what I did there, lol) to me. I think this thread will provide strong evidence that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

creepy or spooky ?
na- i am still intreged by them

I don’t find them creepy in the least. It intrigues me that people use that terminology. Until today I wasn’t aware such a phobia existed.

I share your watch "thing",
so kewl!

I dont find them creepy at all but they're not really my thing!

I do find them artistic and I can see how someone would enjoy them!

I don't find them creepy at all. My husband has a pair of cufflinks made from watch mechanisms, and I think they are very interesting.

Well, I looked and saw snoopy... Not creepy! very interesting!

I don't see them as creepy although they aren't something that appeals to me.

trypophobia is a new term for me. I had no idea this kind of phobia existed. I guess we learn new things all the time.

I used to follow a shop on Etsy that made jewelry from watch parts. Unfortunately, looks like they've closed up. Very steampunk.

I very much dig this kind of thing.
I love mechanisms. Many people find automatons and mechanicals off putting, but I'm fascinated by them. It's probably the only 'doll' like thing that I can easily tolerate. I enjoy contraptions, oddities and miniature things. This fits.
Very cool.

Is nifty OK? :saint: :wavey: :P2

Have you ever made pancakes? You have to wait until all the bubbles pop and form holes on one side before turning over....I don't have trypophobia, but that process trips me out!

Nope and thanks for the warning
Hubby does the cooking!

It kind of grosses me out but because it looks like (to me) fungus growing on them...could just be my poor eyesight though hahaha but that is what I saw initially. But I appreciate the creativity it took to create that piece

The first picture made me think of leaves with holes made by insects!
