This is the mood I''m in today. I hurt and I''m cranky! It''s a perfect storm of being out of one of my perscriptions, not sleeping, being that time of the month, and a low pressure wave coming through the area. I''ve called my husband and texted my daughter giving them a heads up.

Should I find a target or watch a movie that will make me cry uncontrollably? What do you do when you feel like this?

Cheer up Upgradeable! Maybe something sweet will hit the right spot for you?

I warn my FI, then make him talk to me and he makes sure to say nothing but nice things to me. It makes me feel better! Or eating what I crave does too.

If he''s unavaillable I usually watch one or two really sad movies and by the end of it, I have no energy to be cranky because I''m so sad and all sighy/weepy.

Pick fights? Who me????

Sometimes I feel the urge and I follow through with it, taking down the weakest link around at that time...

pull weeds. nothing like physical activity and taking it out on a well deserving misplaced plant.

Yes, I do get into those moods sometimes. I also warn my FI.

A bunch of crying (i.e. sad movie) or physical activity should take it out of you.

Are you talking to me???? ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?

No, not really.

I''m sorry you''re having a tough day, Uppy.

I get accused of picking fights a little more than occasionally. I don''t agree.

Aw..I''m sorry! The title made me think of the Cowardly Lion..put em up put em up!

I end up doing something different every time I feel that way. Moo-Latte or candy bars. Or a funny "go to" movie or one of the tv shows that I like that we have on dvd. I used to exercise but..yeah..no.

I could tell you funny stories and make you laugh?

Someone, I can''t recall who, was having a bad day a while back in the random comments thread and I offered to give her a wet willy or do the "I''m not touching you" thing until she snapped out of it. Would either of those options work for you?

I swear, you and I are such soul sisters!! You''ve already made me laugh!!!

bwahahaha glad to be of service! Full of the dickens, that''s me!

Watching a funny movie that I KNOW will make me laugh, or doing something physical (ahem) usually takes care of it for me. I am in THE WORST mood today because I am humongous and uncomfortable, anybody who comes near me had darn well better beware.

I was never one to pick fights, but I''m not the type to run if someone picks one with me.

Me???? Pick a fight???? I don''t know what you''re talking about

In truth, I know all about it. When I''m in THAT mood, watch out!!!

was hoping the next line would be "MAKE MY DAY".

When I''m cranky, I go for a long walk with my daughter. Nothing like fresh air to snap me back into my happy place.

Usually it''s not so much that I like to pick fights just for the sake of it, but if something bugs me I''ll speak up, especially if it''s with a close friend or family member.

Not really ... Generally I''m a confrontation avoider, for sure. Even if I''m in a situation that makes me really mad, I''ll generally hold it in until I''m in the car or at home and rant and rave about it there.

I guess if I picked a fight with anyone it would be DH - isn''t that what he''s there for?

No, not really.

funny! :)

no - not usually.. sometimes my husband and I will start to bicker a bit, and recognise that we both need a break - mine usually involves eating and exercise :)

The past two times I have felt like this I have gone to the movies by myself and watched whatever it was that was playing. Not really sure why I have started doing this but usually by the end I''m mostly over it.

Before the past two times...I can''t remember. I know i have picked fights over NOTHING before and generally about half way in I realize I''m being a chode and apologize and end it. BF is actually used to this now and can be like "ok, no problem hope ya got it out good".

I get like that once in a while, too. Unfortunately, my wrath sometimes gets taken out on the wrong person - mostly because they were lucky enough to be in my presence at that right moment. If I can, I just try to sequester myself somewhere private. Shut the office door, stay home. Take a nap and sleep it off if I can.

I definitely get into these moods.

I usually take it out on some weights.... a treadmill.... or I kickbox. Sometimes I take it out on a really stubborn horse (horrible I know, but when it takes every ounce of pissy oomph I have to get them to go forward then hey)

I also really enjoy a good cry movie.

Speaking of.. I''ve had a strong desire to watch Titanic lately

YES- but because I don t like confrontation w people I don t 100% know and trust, its always poor BF that has to deal with it. The worst thing is I have only just noticed (like in the last 3 months) that these moods always happen at a certain time of the month.... So now at least I know its not BF (at least most of the time), its actually my hormones. I do either of 3 things depending on how much energy I have- I stuff my face with cake or red meat or chocolate etc (and I mean really stuff) or I exercise or I ring my mom and moan and whine at her until I feel better.
Hope you feel better soon.
ps I LOVE your new ring- its a stunner!

Oohhh! What an appropriate thread!

I was in the mood to pick a fight so I came onto PS to try and find one to pick.

Oh, I definitely get in those moods.

Depending on the severity of the situation, I'll:

- Hang out with my pets. It's impossible to be awful with those big, appreciative eyes gazing up at you. Seriously.
- Watch a favorite movie.
- Go on a long walk with the dog.
- Read a favorite book.
- Eat McDonald's french fries. Seriously, I do this. By the time I'm finished eating them my stomach hurts so much that I no longer have any fight left in me. But they do taste delicious going down.

- I used to drive to the train tracks and sit on the side of them. Now my yard borders a train
30.gif
so I just go out the back fence and sit there. I don't know why, but trains have always calmed me down.

- If all else fails, I wait for DH to come home and pick one heck of a fight. He's infuriatingly calm, so it just fuels the fire, but I have a good go at him every now and then. The man's a saint, I'm telling you.

ETA: Do you have any sisters? They're the BEST for picking fights. At least, mine are. We're always ready to brawl!

Oh I''m right there! With very few changes that''s me today. We''re even dealing with being the same age (as I recall) and the same stupd weather system. As for the cranky part, that was Saturday, when the hubs snapped at me, and I was instantly pissed, and stayed that way for longer than usual. I warned HIM then. I''ve never been moody or mercurial, but that is changing fast.

I hate the heat here, but I can''t wait until it fills in for the summer. These fronts just destroy me too...

I''ve gotten a couple funny emails along the lines of being pissy and I wish I''d saved them. One was about a mood ring, changing colors and when it leaves a big red mark on her husbands forehead, he knows to stay away and that''ll teach him to comment on her mood in the first place. Or something. I was going to print it out and put it on the fridge and I forgot. The other was like..the meaning or feeling of bliss-imagine yourself floating in water, and then look down and see that you''re holding the person who irritates you under water or something. Anyway..kinda loses a bit of hilarity described this way but trust me, the shit was funny.

Or I could tell you the story of how my dad hit JD w/a dead mouse. Ooo you know what, I''ve got a funny email to send you later! Big smoochies to you and I hope you''re feeling less violent today.
