I do. Mushrooms. Hate them. Seriously hate.

But there are so many recipes that include them, and they seem like an integral part of the meal, not like something that could be easily left out or substituted.

What about you?

...no.

Bell peppers. They seem to be in everything!!! Blech.

Sabine, I don''t like mushrooms either. Hate them. I leave them out of everything and won''t make a recipe where they are the "main" ingredient.

I also hate roasted red peppers. I just really don''t like the flavor. Ironically enough, I have a chimichurri recipe from a friend that calls for a cup of roasted red peppers. They get pureed in the blender with everything else and you actually can''t taste them as a independent flavor in the sauce, so I''m cool with them in this one instance.

DH and I both hate cumin. It''s easy enough to just leave out, though, that it doesn''t interfere too much.

My father is a vegetarian who hates mushrooms and green peppers--I dare you to try finding a good vegetarian recipe for that man!

Beans, I really, really hate beans. Its the texture. Blech.

tomatoes and seafood.

I''m with Laine and Tacori--I hate beans and tomatoes. I make a bean-less chili and usually just leave out tomatoes in dishes I like. I also severely dislike peas, but can tolerate recipes that call for peas (chicken pot pie, pastas, etc.)

meat...

Dishes heavy w/ cilantro.

Other than that, its game on!

peppers of any kind. I''ll eat around them but I really dislike them.

Ohhh...how do you make that chili? Beans are kinda iffy with me too.

I hate mushrooms too

and so does my SO....that''s why we''re together, its convenient in the kitchen

and you''re right, mushrooms are in everything

I eat basically everything, so it honestly isn''t a problem for me.
HOWEVER- DH is the pickiest eater imaginable. I have slowly introduced a few green vegetables to him, but he won''t eat anything with added spices, and has just a few items on his "will eat" list. So it limits my cooking because everything I cook has to be smaller portions.

I''ve got a great bean-free chili recipe! Its a cincinnati chili, which not everyone is a fan of, but its a staple in out house and I always need to keep some in the fridge for DH! Saves us $ from going to skyline all the time, too.

THIS.

The only think I absolutely won''t eat under any circumstance is okra. It''s slimy!

MEE TOOOOOO! HATE HATE HATE MUSHROOMS!!!!

Like others on the thread, I hate mushrooms and bell peppers. But I don''t find disliking either limits what I cook at all.

Eating out, on the other hand...like today when I ordered crab cakes benedict and found it full of bell peppers. I always forget that a lot of places put bell peppers in crab cakes...I''ll remember to ask next time!

I really can''t think of any foods I won''t eat or cook with. I like pretty much everything and even if I don''t particularly like it, I''ll still eat it. The one thing I know I could never cook with is live lobster. I love lobster but I could never kill one while cooking. Same with crabs or anything else that you buy live to kill/cook.

After really thinking about it, I''ve decided that the only foods I avoid are chorizo and spring rolls. But those aren''t ingredients. So, to answer the original question, no.

I loathe mushrooms. LOATHE
and seafood/fish for the most part

Oh my gosh, I LOVE so many of the ingredients that you guys hate! Mushrooms, peppers (ALL kinds!), cilantro, tomatoes, beans,

. I love them all!

I''m not a big seafood fan, though, so I''m with ya''ll on that one. I do love lobster, though.

Yssie: we can cook for each other and let our SO''s eat their processed crap from a box.

I''m not sure if I''m breaking a rule by linking to another site, but it''s a cooking site, so I hope it''s okay;

http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Beef-Chili-with-Chipotle-Chilies-and-Cilantro-656

I like this recipe, but instead of water I use beef broth. I love the smoky taste of chipotle peppers and am a fan of cilantro, so I really enjoy this chili.

There are so many, I''m far too picky!
Onions - They seem to be in practically every recipe for dinner!
Mushrooms - So gross, yuck!
Beans - I can''t stand beans(texture thing too!) but kidney beans don''t bother me in chili(without onions!)
Peas - I''ve never never liked peas, my family would make me eat them as a kid...even then I would gag them down. So gross.

BF is pretty much an extreme opposite of me in this respect. He will scarf down just about anything, except for seafood. Which would be so nice to just make some simple seafood dish for dinner.
BF''s parent''s seem to always incorporate some of these into each meal. Drives me crazy!

I'm all in... FI has prego to last him months.

So..what's for dinner?
11.gif

It's probably just a fruit salad this end. I'm not feeling adventurous today.

I love mushrooms and tomatoes and pretty much everything else you all hate. I like cutting up and frying 2 portobello mushrooms and 1 tomatoe to eat on toast
18.gif
. I don''t like shell fish at all but eat pretty much everything else.

BF is the fussy eater- won''t eat any seafood, lamb or roast beef, won''t eat 1/2 the vegetables and fruits in the world and is extreamly lactose intollerant- that man is a mission to cook for! He''s lucky I love him!

I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE Turnips. *Shudder*

And thank god, i don''t cook stuff that needs them!

Well it's not entirely dislike... I am allergic to celery and extremely allergic to sunflower seeds/oil and mangoes so that limits my options! Sometimes it takes me over an hour at the grocery store because I have to read ALL the labels and it makes eating out fun too

4ever, your post made me laugh.

I made a pasta and chicken dish for FI a couple of months ago, and I put the leftover pasta in a ceramic bowl in the fridge. Apparently you''re supposed to drizzle it with oil first so that it doesn''t stick together... FI pulls out the bowl the next day and it''s one big mass of pasta. Winces, tells me that handy little storage tip, and puts it back and makes himself a sandwich. And then I, feeling guilty, took it out whilst he was at work and spent half an hour picking penne pieces apart with my fingers, and of course he didn''t even notice ''til I pointed it out

aside from ''sweet breads'' and any/all organ meats, the only thing I really have a strong dislike for - and it''s STRONG - like I want to gag/vomit strong... is tarragon. It doesn''t limit me much thankfully but there have been times out in restaurants where I simply cannot eat whatever it is, period. Extra weird because I love most other things that have that odd flavor like anise, root beer, licorice. But tarragon is worse and it is slimy too.

Blue cheese. I can''t choke it down, not even to be polite. It seems to crop up in surprising places (soup?!Seriously?) Revolting . I don''t like offal either.

DH won''t eat fast food.
