I never cook or bake with my e-ring or eternity band on. I watch Paula Deen cook and she always wears them. As I''m watching her, I cringe every time she digs into some batter with her HUGE diamond rings. The thought of my rings getting all gooey makes me batty (I''m weird that way).

How about you? Do you care if your rings get marinade or batter on them?

I do, If I''m just making eggs in the morning, I cook with the rings on. But if I''m making a dish that implied get my hands dirty, I take my rings off.

I just received a wedding set for my 25th and am really obsessive about it, I take it off if I''m going to be doing something even slightly messy! Actually, I''ve always been like that, I can''t see getting a pretty ring coated with anything that will be tough to get off. Don''t know how Paula can do that!

Only if my hands won''t get messy. If they do, I take off my rings. I hate the idea of my rings getting full of cookie dough or batter or something

I take them off, especially because it''s slightly loose so I don''t want it accidentally coming off and getting lost.

Junebug...glad to see I''m not the only one that''s a little protective over the rings

Definitely not. And yes, I cringe watching Paula do that too.

No, I''m not Paula Deen...........

She has beautiful filthy diamonds. Haha...

Absolutely NOT. I too would cringe if I saw someone doing that!!

No I dont wear them, I cant stand to get gunk on them, it drives me crazy.

I wear them when I cook for the most part.

But baking is a different story. I have a halo with pave and the thought of mixing that with cookie dough makes me want to hurl. What a nightmare to clean!

I make breakfast with my rings on...something like toast and eggs. But if I have to put my hands into anything like batter, they come off. I would hate for batter or meat juice to get on them. Eeeek. I also cringe when I see Paula Deen and her rings in food.

I always take them off when cooking and also when I wash my hands. They stay cleaner that way. I''ve also occasionally gotten a little eczema between my fingers, which I think was from water getting in between the ring and my finger and my finger not being dried properly. I don''t get it when I take my rings off.

Squawk! Never!

Then again, my rings come off the minute I hit the house, LOL.

I generally wear my ring while cooking/baking, unless I know it's going to be messy -- then I take the rings off before beginning.

I take my eng. ring whenever cooking anything gooey. . .I keep disposable rubber gloves in my kitchen, so whenever I''m cooking anything that may stick to my hands, the food sticks to the gloves instead. I mostly do that to cut back on number of times my hands need to be washed so my skin doesn''t dry out.

Nope. But I don''t have any diamonds. I still don''t cook with jewelry on, not only is it gross, but there are a lot of things that can live in rings that are not very sanitary...

I used to, but now I leave my rings off anyways as soon as I enter the house.

If I''m making something that doesn''t involve getting my hands messy, I''ll leave them on. If I''m baking cookies or something, I take them off before starting. DH--sweetheart that he is--deals with raw meat for me since I hate it, so I don''t have to worry about yucky stuff getting in my rings from that.

No.
I''ve told this story before, but my mom did everything with hers on; never took it off. Diamond fell out (I''ve learned they do this from dirt in the setting). Lost the diamond, not immmediately, but eventually.
No.

LOL!!!!

Heck yeah! I do everything with my rings on.

That is what a cleaner is for, a little ammonia and some windex and any germs are long gone.

I have made meatloaf before with my rings on and was like EW...but a turn in the cleaner and they were good as new. I don''t baby anything I own... I''m lazy that way.

I always take mine off when I know I''m going to be getting my hands into something.

For something sinple that just involves chopping veggies and seasoning some meat, I don''t really bother to remove them.

Are you serious -- ugh, that is making me cringe. I take my rings off before I do anything in the kitchen.

No, no, no... yucky... :-P
I tend to be very hands on cooking, so that means to rings, and on with the apron.:-)

Oooh no, never. I once ate a hotdog while quite inebriated and got sauce and mustard all over my ring, which took a lot of cleaning and my DH has never let me forget it. Probably because his video camera was also hanging around my neck and got sauce and mustard all over it as well.

I never do. I''m always worried something will happen to my ering, so it always comes off.

Me too. I don''t bake though. But, we grilled hamburgers last night and I totally left them on when I was squishing the meat up. I just go clean them right after. Because I am way more paranoid about my ability to lose things than I am about cleaning food off my ring. If you wash your hands and soap the ring too after messy cooking, it''s not like it gets that nasty anyway, it just needs a quick clean after that and it''s fine.
