I do the cooking and laundry and he does all the cleaning. Pre-pandemic we had cleaning ladies, and dh did some of easy cooking (grilling meat, cook rice), but for last 1.5 years, I have worked from home, so I cook almost 100% of the time and he does 100% of the cleaning now that we do not have cleaning ladies.

We perform the chores we are best at and the chores the other doesn’t want to do or physically can’t do. It works out well. We really don’t keep score as the tasks get done and are appreciated.

I do all the cooking, serving food, grocery shopping. He does all the yard work and house cleaning.

I've offered to help with the cleaning but I don't clean to his standard so no cleaning for me.

I do the laundry but he packs it away cuz I'm a hot mess at packing.

I wished it was equal....it is not...hubby retired first of October and I told him I am working 45-50 hours a week I should not have to do all the cleaning...welp you guessed it I still do the majority of the cleaning...he does the dishes during the week and some laundry and some cooking..I do everything else...he thinks he should get a gold star every time he runs the freaking sweeper...ugh...I get very irritated at him.

Gary used to clean the shower and the loo and the oven and occasionlly run the lux over the floor, maybe once in a while throw some washing in the dryer
he did used to sweep the floor too, maybe load and put on the dishwasher
cook a couple of meals a week

Now with his eye trouble and present vertigo he does nothing
and im tired

I am a SAHM...I do the cooking/clean up/laundry/vacuuming/kitty litter and most of the cleaning around the house but my DH, who works
full time does the yard work (1 acre), pool maintenance, car maintenance (2), his own laundry, handles all the bill
paying/investments, and maintenance around the house (22 years old). I think he does more work than I do IMO. He doesn't
complain about it and neither do I! I think I'm getting off pretty easy. I am very appreciative of his hard work around the house
and feel pretty lucky that he just takes it all on as his (I don't think he trusts me to do certain things)!
