Do rankings of EGL-USA include EGL LA?

is EGL LA considered to grade similarly to other EGL USA labs or is it separate? I know that some reports say EGL USA and some say EGL LA, so I feel like they must be different but I honestly don't know (since LA is in the USA ).

Long story short:
Im considering an EGL LA graded OEC and I know all the PS knowledge on really not knowing if its 1 grade off or 5, but among the EGL labs, where does EGL LA fall? I know EGL Belgium is considered looser, EGL USA considered barely more legit. I will be comparing this stone to a GIA stone of the same grade to see how "off" it is, if I like the look of it.

A decade or so ago, EGL had 2 franchises in the US, EGL-NY and EGL-LA. It exploded in a nasty bit of litigation wherein EGL-NY became EGL-USA, the relationship with EGL International went from bad to worse, and EGL-LA disappeared entirely with the principals re-emerging in Chicago as PGS. EGL-USA has subsequently expanded and opened an office in LA, I think in the very same office space. This adds some confusion over the whole term EGL-LA. The lab run by the Tashey's a decade ago well well regarded and called themselves EGL-LA. Occasionally you'll still see reports issued by them. They're gone and the principals now have a lab in Chicago that has nothing to do with EGL. EGL-USA operates a lab in LA as a branch office of EGL-USA as well as two branches in Canada. The docs from that lab say EGL-USA although they've got an LA address and sometimes get promoted as EGL-LA because of the old reputation.

So most likely it is EGL USA (as we now think of it) unless it was graded a while ago. I guess I will see how far off from GIA it is if the video ever gets sent to me!
