I had no idea Daisy was a teenage pregnancy! :wink2:

:Up_to_something: My secret is out...

Yes, I look younger. Most people are shocked when they find out my age. People mistake my mom for my sister.

Thanks all, I'll let my mom know you all think she looks great. I do too, obviously, and she's the most beautiful person I know, inside and out.

Her secrets are moisturize and stay out of the sun. I have her genes, but already I can see the quality of my skin is much worse than hers. My wrinkles will follow her pattern, I think, but just a bit more and deeper.

Haven, I forgot how old you are, but you DO look very young and fresh!
that's the key for Asian women.most Asian women try to avoid the sun as much as possible,on the other hand American women loves to sun bathe.

I think I look younger then I am, I turned 50 last year and I have very few wrinkles...hardly none at all..now do I have gray hair? who knows, I have been coloring it for years lol

I think I look my age. Sometimes, based on how I'm dressed, people perceive me to be younger. But generally, I look my age.

That said, I can't help but grin  when:

- Buying $30-40 bottles of wine at the liquor store and I get carded. Drinking age here is 19. And I can't think of any reason why a teen/college kid would want to get drunk on a $30 bottle of wine, when $7 does the trick just fine

- People at my door to our new house ask if my parents are home

Little pleasures in life :wink2:

ETA: Tgal, you mum is gorgeous!!!!!! She's got such an infectious smile!

I was asked for ID when I bought wine a few weeks ago (legal drinking age 18). I was delighted. I do suspect that the people who work there are told to offer this question as a form of customer service / advanced flattery. I might be wearing pretty well, but I don't look 17, not even in my own head.

I was just talking to someone the other day who I've only known for a short time, and when I told her my age, she was shocked. I'm 37 but she thought I was in my 20s. I'm under 5' so that doesn't help, and I know I sound younger on the phone. I definitely feel younger than I am.

Pandora -- If I did the math right, I think I know how old you are. Should I say?

People in the UK get carded all the time. It's policy in some places so I'm not flattered.

Pandora, I'll guess 35.

A friend of my sister's saw us together for the first time and asked who was the younger sister. I am ten years older than my sister. I was happy, but my sister was not pleased. :praise:

I have stayed out of the sun all my life, never smoked or drank, and have a great hairdresser who colors away all the grey. It really pays dividends when you reach your 50s.

This is a pic of me that was in the paper recently. I'm 34.

I think my skin looks pretty good for my age- no crows feet or anything- mostly because I avoid the sun like the plague. I think I look a little younger than 34, but not immensely so... maybe 3 or 4 years younger. If I let my grey grow out I would definitely look my age! I've got a big streak of it in one temple.

My mom is 62 and looks WAY younger. Once, when she was having foot surgery, the doctor who'd done it got angry at me because I he thought I was f*cking with him when I said I was her daughter. He was absolutely certain I was her younger sister and couldn't figure out why I wouldn't admit it! I hope I look as good as she does at her age.

My husband, however, takes the cake as far as not looking his age. He's 35 and routinely gets carded to buy *video games*. You have to be 17 for that! And we both get carded for alcohol every time, too.

Zoe - have a shot, I've posted often enough what age I am that it's probably workable outable!

Rosetta - nope, wrong.

LGK--I love your style! Why were you in the paper, if you don't mind sharing?
Pandora--You look much younger than your age. I'm quite envious of your beautiful complexion.

Since people are posting pictures I can't resist sharing a picture of my handsome DH. This is from our Ireland trip last summer, he was 40 at the time.

He does have these delicious laugh lines when he smiles, but even so I still think he looks younger than his age. This photo is also from that trip, so I was 29. This is the only close-up(ish) picture I have where I'm not wearing any makeup on my skin. I just have a smudge of eyeliner and some mascara on here. (We were in the airport, it was early. I didn't care much about how I looked, I just wanted coffee and a place to sit while I woke up.)
IMG_9333.jpg

I wear hats most of the time, and I sometimes fear that they're going to give me massive wrinkles on my forehead! I used to work as a lifeguard, and tanned every summer, but I've since stopped that. I don't want to do any more damage to my skin than what's already been done.

ETA: I just realized that I look considerably younger in all of my photos taken during the summer than I do in photos taken during the school year! It's not surprising, I suppose, but man do those bags under my eyes pile on the years. (I'm a teacher, so I'm very well rested all summer long. :cheeky: )

You're a beautiful couple! Can't wait to see the kiddies - and your husband definitely looks much younger than 40. I'd have probably put you around the 27/28 mark but that may well be preconceptions from your posts on here.

- I'm a factor 50 all year round girl, living the city I always wear foundation as well to protect it. I have a typically Scottish skin which means it is mainly blue, in winter you can add purple blotches, and if I go near the sun I turn lobster red and then fade back to blue again. I thank my parents for their generous gift!

Jennifer - I'm going to guess 25, and I honestly don't have a clue... but you certainly don't look a day older!

Haven, it's pretty funny actually. The article was about jewelry. Costume tho. I was modeling the costume jewelry set there in the picture; it belongs to an antique dealer in the mall I work at.

Lalalalala can't hear you, it isn't true, I look 17 lalalalalala

I'm 36, but because I don't put my glasses on before I look in the mirror, and because my eyesight is deteriorating at a rapid rate, I look younger every year...

I think most women think they look younger than they are. If you ask someone to guess how old you are (particularly if you ask a man) they won't usually want to offend you, so will work out how old they think you really are, and subtract 5 years.

I think we're used to seeing people who look older than they should, so when someone just looks good for their age, we automatically assume they have had surgery. Such as in the gossip magazines - celebs in their mid 30's, the speculation is they have had loads of fillers/botox just because they have few facial lines. Women in their mid 30's, who make their living off their appearance and look after their skin, shouldn't have a lot of wrinkles!

Ok, Nicole Kidman probably does have botox, but I'm only a little younger than she is, and I don't have a single line on my forehead either.

Pandora: higher or lower??

Am I anywhere near?

Higher and you're out by a fair amount!

Jennifer - I can't believe you're 36, you look much, much younger!

I'm 23 and I feel like sometimes I look my age (or a little older) but I've been mistaken for much younger, many times and it definitely gets annoying.

When I bought a dress for my college graduation they thought I was graduating from high school. I now TEACH at a college and I'm always mistaken for a student. The worst though is when people think I'm in high school.

Being mistaken for being younger is fine when you're old enough that it's not an insult. I feel like being lumped into an age group where mommy and daddy still are responsible for you is pretty depressing.

Pandora, i'll say 38 but i really dont think you look 38!

That's very kind of you! I'm 40 next year...

yowza pandora!

please tell me which sunscreen you use!!

Nivea Kid's Factor 50 (the spray one) and then Oil of Olay Regenerist Serum on top of that...

Looking younger isn't always a great thing - I think I've started looking considerably older than I did before I had a baby (they AGE you big time!).

Before it was ridiculous, people generally thought I was around 10 years younger and professionally it was a nightmare. In my last position a manager in another department (who is gay so had no ulterior motives) was a friend of mine on FB. He rang my office on my birthday to say Happy Birthday and to let me know that I'd put my date of birth in wrong and it should be 82 not 72. He even made me get out ID to prove it.

A friend of my mother's had an 18 year old son who asked his mother is he could take me out for a drink and his mother said that wouldn't be appropriate as I was only 15... I'd turned 24 a few weeks earlier (I was actually quite pleased that time as I didn't care for her son and it got me out of having to turn him down!)

I was even turned down for jobs because the employer felt that the people below me would find it hard to see me as a figure of authority.

Even subconciously I think managers always saw me as still being the new graduate even when I had 10 years experience. Promotions were hard to come by despite near-perfect appraisals and consistently good results.

I'm not sure about most women, but I've always looked younger than my age. I don't always like this. I get a lot of "you're too young to be a doctor" from patients. And I got carded at every single pit in Vegas a year and a half ago (I was in my mid-20s). I could pass for a college student or maybe even high school, depending on what I'm wearing.

May i add a detail in the conversation...
Many people here seem to think that what makes ladies look old or...well...older, is the wrinkles and fine lines. Ehm...no. That's not the only thing that makes people's age show. I don't have any wrinkles whatsoever, but i have noticed that even the expressions on my face, the way i look at other people, the way i behave, show that i can't be in my twenties. The exact same face, when it is stuck on the body of a 25 year old it will look totally different than it would look on me that i'm 37. Because the general attitude, the smile, the expressions, even the way that a 37 year old person talks and behaves are different than the a 25 year old. The experience and the maturity that comes with age show on our face even if we don't have any wrinkles whatsoever. Of course, not having wrinkles helps a lot to looking and feeling beautiful but that doesn't change the fact that wrinkles are not the only thing that makes our age show ;))

To prove my point, i attach a picture of myself from last May, when i was 36 and i was having a trial make up and hairdo for my upcoming wedding. Needless to say that i've never had any botox or anything of the sort. So...no wrinkles whatsoever as you can all see and also a playful expression on my face because we were making fun at that moment and laughing all together...but still...isn't it obvious that i am around the age of 35? Yes, it is...
And one last thing...I never believe people who tell me that i look so much younger than my age. People are always careful when it comes to such issues, especially when there is a lady involved. My brother has told me that when people are asking him to guess their age, he always says a much younger age than the one he really thinks thay have, because he doesn't want to put people in a difficult position or hurt a lady's feelings...I realize that i do the same thing too and i only thought about it when my brother told me that he does that...!!!

Naty, you actually have a somewhat ageless face. I bet it hasn't changed much since you were in your late teens, and probably won't for decades yet! You could be any age, depending on makeup, clothes etc, partly because you have such great skin.

I don't think I'd say you look your age, but then I couldn't particularly say you look any other age either! It's what I think of as proper grown-up beauty. (Oh, and can you tell that I'm just a smidge envious of you? )

Jennifer, the "proper grown up beauty" comment of yours is one of the best compliments i've ever received :) Thank you so much for that ::) And by the way...judging from the picture that you posted, i don't think that you should be envious of me or anybody else!!!!

Thank you, you're sweet. You're also really beautiful, which I hope you realise and enjoy. ;))
