Will the colors be different if I pair 14k and 18k?

It is slightly different but depending on the alloy you may not see the difference...

I own one 14 carat gold ring with green jade and hesitated about buying it because of the low carat. Still, its was the only ring I liked and I wanted to bring back some jade from Thaïland 8-)

When I started wearing it whith my 18 carat rings I was surprised that there was no noticeable difference...so I think it's possible to wear 14 and 18 carat gold together.

How nitpicky are you?

I have 18k yg pieces that are ever so slightly different in colour... but they are larger pieces, not rings, so there's also more flat metal surface with which to compare, I don't know if I'd see the difference in smaller, rounded rings... I have no doubt that 14k and 18k *can* be different - none of my 14k and 18k pieces would be close enough to wear together by my standards. It seems like there's enough variation that you could find alloys that make them virtually identical, though.

For me - and I am picky - there is a definite color difference between the two. 18 kt. is of course richer and a deeper color - for lack of a better descriptor. You might not find it to be so - you could always go to a retail store and check it out.

Your new ring is lovely - the stone has a beautiful pattern to it! Enjoy your new pretties!

Oh, my pieces of 14 and 18k are VERY different. I would definitely get the same karat gold for sure.

My ering is 14K and my 5 stone is 18K, you can see a difference, the 18K is a nice, rich gold color....I dont think everyone would notice only people who are into jewelry or if you point it out to someone.

Same here. I have one 14k piece that I can put next to my 18k and they look the same, yet another 14k piece that I had was much more coppery. 14k seems to have larger color variations than 18k

18k is a lot yellower and richer.

found an example. 18k in the middle with 14k on either side

Terrific example! 18k is just very different than 14k.
