Do you think I need to purchase an Idealscope to evaluate the cut of this diamond?

We purchased this diamond and will be setting it in a ring in 2 weeks. No idealscope picture was provided by the vendor at the time of purchase. I narrowed down to this particular stone by evaluating based on this priority:

1. Cut – EX on GIA, EX on polish and symmetry, and HCA value of 1.3 (61.7% depth, 56% table, 34.5 crown angle, 40.8 pavilion angle, 15 % crown depth, 43% pavilion depth, medium girdle, no cutlet)
2. Color – F
3. Clarity – VS2 (cloud and crystal)

I do notice a lot of people of PS purchased an Idealscope to evaluate the light return of the diamond. Although I know HCA and Idealscope go hand in hand, but ultimately, people say Idealscope rules over HCA. In my case, do you think it is necessary for us to purchase an Idealscope to evaluate this diamond before it is set? I have not appraised this diamond but showed to a few jewelers to verify the authenticity and the GIA report. Actually, we do not plan to appraise it since we tried to save some money towards our wedding, especially after we made this very expensive purchase. We try to save wherever we can.

Well going by the numbers this should be a lovely stone. The HCA cannot see the diamond and predicts how well the proportions entered are likely to work together, so in that sense an Idealscope image in my opinion takes precedence over the HCA. You could purchase a beginner IS inexpensively, but personally with those numbers I don't think it is a must have but I think they are excellent tools and of course can be used at a later date for other diamonds you might consider...!

Here is the purchase info

Chances are it's a beautiful diamond. But idealscopes are fun to have. Not a necessity by any means though, that stone has a very very good chance of being really nice. But if you want to be 100% sure, a beginner idealscope isn't a bad investment for $30.

You''ve got all very safe numbers there, I would think you''re fine. It looks great!

I bought a stone with similar numbers to this without an ideal scope image and it turned out beautifully in person. I would make sure you have a good return policy so that you can view the stone in person and return it if needed. You can also buy a scope yourself and they are fun to own.

You have a very very slight risk that the stone is painted or dug or has wierd minor facets.

It is never a bad idea to ask for a web diamond to be shipped first to an appraiser if they can not will not do an ideal-scope.

Appraisers can check more stuff too
