Yes, it''s certainly possible. Most cutters can do just about any style, if you request it.
It was typically a diamond cut, so it may not look that great in a material with low refraction. However, the proportions can always be adjusted to suit whatever material. I''ve seen some very old rubies cut in old mine style, and the ones with decent proportions looked rather nice.

Proteus - thanks. You need to get Proteus Inc. going and cut us some Large Faceted stones and chunky colored antique cut cushions. But, for now, playing "guess the inclusion" is great. Thanks for pointing out that cuts that work in a diamond may not work as well in colored stones. How would a sapphire work in a chunky, large faceted square cushion?
