My father has dish network tv and he sees these gem auctions where they sell diamonds and other gems at a ridiculous low price. One that he talked about was Extreme Shopping network, I think it's Mr. G's gems. Are these guys legit, what's the catch? The prices seem too low for the diamonds to be legit.

I'm not familiar with the "Extreme" guys, but my take on the TV auction networks, shopping clubs, etc, is that the prices are generally good but the quality is generally lower.

Not a hard and fast rule, just a generalization. They are "mass" promoters, and the real "good stuff" doesn't usually go the way of the mass promoter. They're looking for price points, and that's what the dealers give them.
