Discoloration on sapphire ring?

Hi all, just noticed a much darker area on the same one side of the platinum shank both front and back that I’m not sure how long it’s been there for, but definitely not when I first got this ring years ago.

I do work in the hospital and wear this ring a lot, washing my hands often and using hand sanitizer, if that changes things. I try to remember to take it off when I clean the house, etc, but maybe a lil exposure to windex and cleaning products unintentionally...I read ammonia can react with platinum?

The dark area does not go away with warm water and light scrub. Just wondering what it could be and What can be done about it?

I love this sapphire and this ring

But did look back thru your original thread and do believe I saw this same discoloration there. Maybe just a professional polish is needed? Hopefully a repair (before you bought it ) wasn’t done with white gold or something? I’m just guessing.
