What do you think your alter ego would like to do as a career? I often dream of being a famous singer, a Jeweler, a motivational speaker. Who knows what the future holds right!? What do you think you''d be doing if you could have an alternative career!?

I was really born to be a rock star, but they forgot to give me any musical talent. Le sigh.

I would be Indiana Jones....but a girl of course.

You ARE a rockstar! In my world anyway...

Writer

Architect...

Hmmmm..... a background singer or playing acoustic guitar in a band.

I would be a rock star.

I''m so convinced of this that this is what I wrote about in my law school application that asked "If you were to choose a career outside of law, what would it be?"

Too bad I can''t sing.

I should have read everyone''s replies first, then I could have dittoed you!

We should start a band--The Screechers.

I''d like to be a socialite and would have lots of sexy body guards to protect me.

I figured out I would make a really good executive assistant as I am really organized and on top of things and can multitask well, a great housekeeper, but not cook, as I am a neat freak and I know if I was working for someone, their home would be spotless, and lastly, I would be a good detective as I am great at picking up clues and figuring out things.

Now, if I was choosing a different career based on what I love, I would love to be a gemologist or jewelery designer, be an owner of a spa or salon, be a pastry chef, and lastly, an interior designer to the stars!

Ditto, ditto, ditto....

A broadway star.

Or...director of product development at a toy company.

Since I was 8, I wanted to be an archaeologist on the tomb of the first emperor of China. They may not open it in my lifetime, nor will they let a Western woman work on it, but maybe I will get to see it.

On the up side, I always wanted to be an archaeologist, so I am in grad school to be an archaeologist.

I also wanted to be an Irish step dancer. I was very good, but took it too late to do anything but win at a couple local competitions.

I also can''t sing. Never wanted to be a rock star, but not embarrassing myself at birthday parties would be nice. I vote we call ourselves the Banshees.

A broadway star.

Me too. I''d love to live in NYC and perform on broadway every night. Add me to the list that can''t sing so unfortunately it will never happen!

I''d love to be an artist (a painter, probably) but I have no artistic ability whatsoever.

Hahaha YES!

I''d love to be an artist (but I have no artistic talent - stick figures are generally beyond me), a pastry chef (except for the hours), or a jewelry desginer (see parenthetical remark A).

If it was my alter ego with my current skill set, eventually I want to be a writer. So maybe someday my alter ego will become my...primary ego?

Professional athlete! I love the training, the competition, and the pressure.

Alas, it was not to be. But luckily I love what I do anyway.

I would love to own a ranch in another life. Or be the prima ballerina for a major ballet company (I share this dream with many 5-year-olds, I just never grew out of it).

If I am lucky enough to retire at a fairly early age, I would love nothing more than to move to Montana, buy a few hundred acres, own several horses and few other farm animals and contentedly tend to my little ranch every day. Funny how I grew up on a farm and always wanted to go to college and work in a big city on the coast. Now that I''m on the other side I dream about owning a ranch...

Hm..

Several things. Jewelry designer. That''s recent. ;-) Professional potter. Loved pottery. Loved throwing. With space for my own studio and kilns. Interior designer would be fun too.

Small venue singer - jazz or folk. And I AM good enough for that - but see above - (for the classical stuff at least), I started too late. I have a soloist voice without a soloist temperment and drive, and you really need all the pieces plus a generous dose of luck for a successful career.) But around here there isn''t much for either one, and I really hate bars and staying up late so...

The theme here is that I may really be in the wrong career - IT.

Seriously ironic, and shows how timing has always been a problem with me.

Oh well, it pays the bills...

I''m always attracted to very passionate careers, like an athlete or a musician.

Yes, yes! Me too! I can''t believe you like throwing, I''m AWFUL on the wheel. I just don''t have it in my hands.

Neat that some of you would like to have a job like mine (Interior Designer).

Let''s see, I wouldn''t mind being an architect (just so I wouldn''t constantly have to explain the difference between an Interior designer and an Interior Decorator).

My alter ego would love to be a Video Game designer. I know, weird. I''ve been learning software that is used for video games and I have to say it''s a lot of fun. I have this fantasy of being holed up in a room of designers, sharing ideas and artwork while eating delivery pizza. How nerdy can I be?!!

HI:

(Successful) professional golfer. All those men announcers whispering about shots on TV--such a rush!

Fun! I took some classes and almost went back to school to study mesoamerican archaeology, but was sidetracked after taking a few pottery classes!

For a few years my son talked of being a paleontologist. He''s 7 right now so this was a plan beginning before kindergarten! lol Last fall, however, he decided to change his field to football and plans to play professionally, and says he''s going to buy, "apartments and hot tubs." When I asked him about diamonds, he said he''d buy some of those too!

If I were about 4 inches taller and weighed about . . . 40 more pounds, I think I would have made a go at professional tennis/dancing.

On a more realistic level, I think I would make a rather good interior designer.

Fetish model. Love the clothes. I''m a luscious girl... I can rock a corset and vinyl dresses.

When I was young I wanted to be a fashion designer for avant garde clothing, went to school for it but live in the wrong city to make any progress. I would totallly be a rock start, though I can''t really sing. I have the stage presence from what friends tell me when I do karaoke.

And of course, ruler of Earth.

I have interests in many different careers, but the first that comes to mind is archaeology! My alter ego (a more patient version of myself) would love to go on digs, particularly in south america and the middle east!

I wouldnt have a career. I would be a princess. I know that sounds really immature, but my whole life I have sworn that I was given the wrong parents and that I really was meant to be royalty. It went so far that I insisted that I was adopted and in no way could the parents I have really be my parents.

Now if I had a career I would be a race car driver. Yup, I have the need for speed.
