I have only been engaged since 1/7, but since I am planning a July 2010 wedding, I need to get a dress ASAP (I have already been told by designers that with the dress being cut to my exact measurements, they cannot have it in time and I would have to pay a $500 or more rush fee). I am starting to stress about not having a dress in time, well because frankly I am completely underwhelmed with the options so far.
I have been dress shopping about 6 times so far and have tried on tons of dresses, even venturing to styles/cuts, etc that I would never think I would like, just to exhaust all options.
My friends call me a snob, which I am starting to believe at this point
, because I am completely turned off by cheap fabric, crappy beading or craftsmanship, and basically refuse to look like your quintessential catalog bride. I hate poofy dresses, and am not going for the "princess" look which everyone seems to be imposing on me. I want a very romantic, and fashionable look. So is it just me being a pain in the @$$ and thats why I havent found anything?
Not trying to sound b*tchy, because I have tried on several dresses that were very pretty (Jenny Packham is a fashion genius), and even got tears from my mom and sister with one dress, but I didnt get that "OMG this is it!" feeling. I have unfortunately had to venture out of my comfort zone as far as budget preference just to find some that I am remotely interested in, and could buy about 5 dresses that I have tried on that would be very nice options. But if I am spending $7,000 or more on a dress, shouldnt I LOVVVEEE it? Or am I putting to much of an emphasis on something you''re "supposed" to feel but that no one really does feel???
