Did you buy a mega millions ticket? And

Just occurred to me, that this is pretty much what I have already!

And that is the sign of true contentment. When one is happy with what they already have.

“Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want but the realization of how much you already have.” Anonymous

But it *is* fun to dream right? :))

Oh I love this quote too.

“Health is the greatest gift, contentment is the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.” Buddha

Take a lumpsum, invest a bunch, put a bunch in savings, buy a condo or something with a huge balcony and hopefully sell our house, and then my husband would IMMEDIATELY quit his job.

I'd buy a lot of pieces from that Marie Antoinette auction.. IF I ever remembered to play.... :lol-2:

PS:DH hates the lottery, because he somehow thinks it's indecent to support the notion that one can get rich without hard work. Spoilsport

1st - hire a lawyer to help me deal!
Then:

- go on a mini shopping spree at holt Renfrew, maybe 1-2 pieces of clothes, or one outfit, or something.
- donate to public libraries.
- create a program that addresses the child poverty rate in my area.
- buy a home.
- start a business.

yep! :) fun to dream. I never play though.

Yes I would and I bought a ticket 9.00$ and I won 4.00$ truth..
If I had won big money, I would buy a 5 carat AVR or something and live in harmony with my husband and help others.. in many way. Food and education especally.

First thing, tithe. Then I’d buy one-way tickets outta Florida for me and my family. It’s too stinking hot here.

I bought one. Spending money is what I do best:$$):

Ha! A skill we have in common. Must remember this *is* a skill because I am always selling (haha selling) myself short thinking I have no skills whatsoever. Not true..I spend money very very well.:mrgreen2:

I put my $2 in a lottery pool at work, and I believe we have about 55 people total in the pool. So, even with a billion total, divided by 55 would be around $18M then we'd probably take the lump sum 50%? =9M, and Uncle Sam taking 40% of that, each of us would be left with $5M.....

That does not go very far in CA, after tithing, buying a forever home, paying for college for 2 kids I'll probably have to work again after a 2 year hiatus to travel a little.

Bought five. My son wants an x-box in every room, my daughter wants nothing to change, to still be a neurosurgeon and donate it all to charity. (13 years old)n:???::???::???::???:

Husband said he'd leave and never return. Convenient, since I bought the ticket with my own untraceable cash.

:lol::lol::lol:

Bye Felicia!!!!

p.s. Good on your daughter!

Fever got me so I bought

5 mega millions

5 power balls

5 state lottery (350k woo hoo)

I would pay off my house. Set up a trust funds for the grandkids and godson and give my kids enough money to pay their houses off and any bills. Then depending on how much I won I would donate to the Humane Society in my state and hopefully others.

After that I maybe would take a long vacation to think about things. Would make sure I kept health insurance just in case and probably give to one more charity that helped my family member out back in the day.

Well I didn’t win.

Isn't it up to $1.6bn now?

That is insane.

Yup. No one won so it’s 1.6 billion next

yep bought one before I think I will buy one again....someone has to win....may as well be me :rolleyes2:

I think I'll buy some today. I never win anything but hey, why not.

If you never hear from me again, you know why :mrgreen2: If I win, I'm telling no one because I think that's how you get in trouble when everyone wants a piece of you, and disappear to somewhere tropical. Pay off our house, buy another house by the beach, and probably do a one time spurge on nice things then save the rest for investing/saving and put aside for my boys in trust funds. Key would be continue to live a low key life, just with little less worry about financial constraints :P2

- and I didn't win either :(2

WHEN i win, I will buy a bunch of land and start a multiple species animal rescue.

I will give most of my money to victims of child abuse.

I will buy more classic American muscle cars than I can drive.

Each one of my kids will get a house.

That is about it.

 I think you and I might be related. DH wants Eleanor and I want both a Chevelle SS and a Camaro.

Try again! :wavey:

I bought more tickets today and will drop in on Graff if I'm lucky.

I bought 5 tickets, the most i ever had for a single event, and didn't win. so I'm on the fence whether I will do re-up or not. Right now not feeling it : (

It's somewhat ironic that the odds of winning are already ridiculously astronomical, but then everyone goes and buys more tickets than usual, lengthening the odds even further... lol

We got one and didn't hit even a single number but it was fun talking about what we would do with different sizes of hypothetical jackpots =P

Mr. and I each bought a ticket, but I don't know if it would put much of a dent in my gem and jewelry wish list ;)2

You know, I've often thought that. It could EASILY ruin a person.
I agree! Most people think it will make life easier, and in some ways it does, but the winner loses the context of their lives...the winners are only "people with money" who will never belong in the world of the ultra rich, but still can never again feel connected the same way in their old life. It is isolating,
Kind of like selling your soul for material gains. If anything it only adds more problems.
Still, most people are willing to take the risk because they think somehow they won't be negatively affected. Lol

No lottery buys.

Nobody knows what to do with that sort of money. Don't trust me - spend half an hour browsing VC talks...

_

@soxfan - your kids are so happy they would change nothing ! That's your doing, methinks.
