Hello:

I just bought a diamond from a very reputable jeweler. I am afraid I paid too much for the diamond. It is an 1.9 ct. I, SI 1, excellent cut and I paid 18700. They have a policy that if within 30 days of purchase I find a diamond with the same characteristics they will match the price. I am looking at other places but I am not too sure how they can match the price when all diamonds are different in one way or another. I will appreciate your comments on this.

Thanks!

Is it certified? If so, with whom? Do you have measurements?

So many variables can affect price...but just to compare I am looking at a cushion cut 2.01ct, I, SI 1, (GIA) excellent cut and its around the 12k mark.

It is certified. I have to go to the jeweler to get the ring and the certificate. I will post all the information once I get it.

Sounds like a plan. It sounds high to me, but nobody can really know for certain without all the information.

As a comparison, here''s a WF ACA 2.087 ct I VS2 with an AGS report:

it sounds quite high

I don't think the price is terribly bad. Certainly higher than you would pay on-line but there are advantages to having a reputable jeweler close by.

2.042ct I SI1

2.04ct H SI2

The price is only for the diamond. I just wanted to upgrade my center stone for my 5th year anniversary.
