Hello:

I just bought a diamond from a very reputable jeweler. I am afraid I paid too much for the diamond. It is an 1.9 ct. I, SI 1, excellent cut and I paid 18700. They have a policy that if within 30 days of purchase I find a diamond with the same characteristics they will match the price. I am looking at other places but I am not too sure how they can match the price when all diamonds are different in one way or another. I will appreciate your comments on this.

Thanks!

depends on the detail that policy goes into, and the tolerances they have. for instance, does the matching diamond need to be 1.90ct, 1.89 and 1.91 need not apply? certified by same lab (which lab, btw)? i would say read the fine print much more closely... and let us know what we''re looking for. at the very least... tell us a little more about your purchase!

from just what you said though... this policy sounds to me like a great way to sell diamonds cause it sounds great to customers, but is ultimately useless and the store makes tons of money because of that.
