Thank you in advance for your reply. I already bought this diamond but it is still in the return period. I second guessing myself, thinking I might have overpaid

The loose diamond itself cost $15,301

Did I overpaid for this diamond or was it appropriately priced?
How much would you have paid for this diamond?
Have you come across any other selection you would like to refer?

Pictures of Depth %, Table %, Crown Angle, & Pavilion Angle are in photo attached.

Re: Did I overpaid for this diamond or appropriately priced

The numbers look good on the one you bought, but without an idealscope image and magnified image of the stone, we really can't say anything else. Not sure why you'd be comparing and I color stone to an F, though??? I wouldn't even consider an IF diamond. Better to go up in color and down in clarity to the VS range.

I'd say that this is a much better buy at $15,800 (excellent idealscope and ASET):

Consider if the one I bought has excellent aset and ideal scope, is it worth the price?

I didn't see any at that size to compare. It's not as good a deal as the 1.5 ct stone because their is a price jump at 1.5 cts and that is just $800 more for a larger stone with the same color/clarity specs. So I'd say the price is fair but not as good as the 1.5.

Costco has good prices on jewelry and a vast selection. For me this is always the benchmark. They are reputable and also have a great return policy.

The 1.53ct you posted has too many intrusion. The table and crown is tiny bit out of tokowsky range. Some carat weight is hidden in the girdle thickness

Do you mean inclusions? It's a VS1... and you are buying the stone, not the numbers. It ASET's and IS's out very well.

Umm, yeah. It's VS1. VS1 means it will be very difficult to see any inclusions with 10 x magnification. So it is a clean stone. Thin to slightly thick is totally fine for a girdle. This stone is not hiding weight in the girdle. And I am pretty sure you'd find it very difficult to see the difference between 57 and 58 in the tables when looking at the stones in real life. As ecf said, we have the idealscope and ASET on the 1.5 ct stone and it has no leakage.

Your stone may be the same, better, or worse as far as cut goes. As I said before, we cannot really know just from the report. But the 1.5 we do know is a good buy for the money and is excellent in cut.
