Did I get a good deal?

Hello,
I am new to this community and this is my first post. I just purchased a loose diamond yesterday and I am not sure if I made best deal. I purchased a 1.01ct Cushion, IF, G, Excellent cut diamond (GIA) from James Allen for $5300. Upon receiving some advice from my brother, who just pruchased a ring last year, I decided to purchase a loose diamnd and commision a custom setting from somewhere. I don't even understand the "setting a loose diamond in a custom setting" process yet, so I am on this board doing research but that is another issue. I purchased the diamond first because I thought it was too good of a deal to pass up, so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. Could anyone on this board tell me if I made a good purchase? Mainly, I think I need some reassurance to calm myself down after the purchase. If I did make a good purchse, then I can rest my mind and begin looking into the setting process. I'm trying to get this done before the new year, so it's getting a little tight. Thanks in advance!

(p.s. I'm looking for a tiffany novo style setting with side diamonds but I don't know the best place to get it)

do you have images of the diamond you purchased?

JA has a novo-type setting so why not just get it there? you will avoid mounting fees.

ETA again GIA does not grade cut of cushions?

like SLG said- GIA doesn't grade the cut quality of cushions. The only way to determine the cut quality is to see the ASET image.

You need an ASET of the stone.
