Hi Guys,

Luckily, I found PS early this year when I was doing some research for an e-ring. I was initially turned off by the amount of information and the time required to learn all the information to make a proper decision.

8 months after, i think i have gotten a good handle on the information. I ended up with a rock from GOG, found here...

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3450

Just wanted your opinion on this rock? It was up against a 1.34 solasfera and a 1.52 J VS2 H&A, both from GOG.

I ended up deciding on the rock above, because the solasfera had a inclusion on the table that was visible and the H&A had a very very faint warmth to it. I loved the look of the solasfera, but couldn''t find anything else in the timeframe...

I did get to see all of these stones in person and would have chosen the 1.52, if the warmth didn''t bother me as much...

Anyone second guess their selection? If anything, i feel that i''ve done MORE research since i have purchased the rock and have gone to more jewelry stores to take a look at their selection. Finding a plethora of G - I, SI1 - I1 stones made me wonder if i was too picky/selective in finding the perfect rock.

And whomever has the quote about the difficulty in finding a mind clean diamond? Is totally right. :)

Hi Darthkim,
it looks like you chose a gorgeous stone - great size and will be very white and of course sparkly.

I''m sure you have read that clarity of IF is not "necessary" in order to have a clean diamond, but considering your mind clean comment, I''m guessing that was for personal reasons?

Congrats on your purchase, can you share how you will set it?

Hi arjunjane,

Thanks for your reply.

I''m getting it set in a copy of Tiffany''s Novo setting.

I wasn''t seeking a IF stone, but happen to stumble across it when looking through their RB inventory. It happened to be in the right size/pricepoint. I guess I got lucky that way...

You did great - congrats!!!

Thanks lorelei!

Hi Guys,

here are some Pics. Gabriel Novo Setting by GOG.

Looks beautiful!!

Here is a bigger view...

So here is where i'd like some more help.

In this blown up view, it looks like the prongs are kind of misshaped and the arrows are not lined up with the wedding band.

Should this bother me? I know that I am looking at a blown up image, but i keep thinking that it should look better.

But after thinking about a couple hours and then resizing the image to what it will be in real life, i think that i am crazy and the ring should be fine. The pics were sent from GOG as i don't have the ring in my possession.

What do you guys think? Am I nuts?

I think that pricescope has made so many of us into CRAZY perfectionists--- myself included! That would bother me too, BUT I would wait until I saw it in real life to make up my mind about it. These blown up pics make every little detail stand out, and some things you just won''t be able to see without that magnification. I think the ring looks GORGEOUS!!! And while I would never pay for an IF stone, I''d feel pretty special having one on my finger. I think you picked a winner!

Hi Darthkim, I could be wrong, but to my knowledge this orientation of the arrows is how they are usually set, to match up with the prongs.
Please see a pic of my ring below to illustrate (sorry about the size).

Personally, I like it this way, but if you would prefer a different orientation of the arrows than I would just ask GOG and see what they say. Perhaps ask if they have any images of stones set that way so you can decide for sure?

fwiw, I think your ring looks stunning, but of course you need to be happy with it. I do agree that these blown up pics can put things out of perspective though, as its very rarely you see distinct arrows like this in day to day wear.

Hi Arjunajane,

Wow, your ring looks stunning!

Your right, the arrows should line up in a similar manner as yours. I think I''ve become overly critical of the ring, largely because of the blown up photo. I like the way it is currently set, except that the right side seems to be tilted up a smidgen (hence lowering the arrows on the left side). Did I mention that I think I am overly critical?

However, in retrospect I think the ring looks fine as it is and the things that i am nitpicky about won''t be visible or noticeable unless viewed with a loupe. I can''t help but want everything to be perfect and am concerned that I may miss something. :)

Thanks PS, for all your help and feedback.

hey again, thankyou for the compliment on my ring,

If I had to guess, it looks like the ring could be on a slight tilt in the pics which is causing what you are seeing. I can see that the arrows are slightly off, but hopefully its just the pic?
I bet as soon as you receive it, you will forget about any concerns - but of course if it bothers you, I'm sure GOG will be happy to help.

Thats just what PS does to us, lol

I love the cut, I think it''s beautiful.

You did a fantastic job!!! Now just stop and enjoy it!!! Gorgeous ring!
