Hi,

I purchased a diamond for an engagement ring on Friday.

The jeweller (Reputable) suggested that I go for this diamond:

I'm concerned about the grading report revealing "twinning Wisp" as the only defect on a SI1 (0.9ct) Excellent Cut I Colour (Strong flor) Diamond.

I paid $5000 AUD so I had a bit of choice and can still change my mind.

Will i see any reduced brilliance in this diamond?

Twinning wisps which are clear or white (as this diamond has) are often not visible at all to the naked eye - looking at the video (which is a pretty cool set-up), particularly the Naked Eye View, I do not find the inclusions visible to me... whether they are to you I cannot say. In any case, I do not believe these twinning wisps will cause any reduced brilliance.

Is this diamond graded by GIA or AGS? Do you have the report number and/or the diamond specs (table/depth/crown angle/pavilion angle/dimensions)?

Is there a solid no-questions-asked return period where you get a full refund?

Hi Thanks for your answer!

I did have the GIA e-certificate but since I put down a deposit it appears they have removed it:

http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?pagename=GST%2FDispatcher&childpagename=GIA%2FPage%2FReportCheck&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=2176961712

I do however have this information:

Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Measurements: 6.27-6.32x3.76
Table: 59%
Depth: 59.7%

They offer a lifetime upgrade policy free of charge.

The link does not pull up the GIA report, and it doesn't come up when I manually type in that GIA report number.

As long as they have a solid return policy, perhaps it is worth examining in person. If there is no full-refund return policy, personally I would not go for it.
