I agree...I''ve seen maggies'' that are a fraction of the price that are just as nice as this dress. I''d want a really nice diamond instead of that dress

I love that show, but watching it really does bother me at times- many of the brides with the "higher" budgets, and some of the sales associates, seem very snooty. I think spending that kind of money on a dress is wastefull and unacceptable. (That''s probably why I didn''t spend that much

I can understand loving the dress...it''s beautiful and looked fantastic on her...but it was also uncomfortable. I mean, they ended up spending 15.5k on a ripped dress.

They also LIE on that show. Another PSer (I won''t out her) was on and didn''t buy her dress there. But they said that she did! Very odd.

The haggling thing was weird for sure. I mean, don''t fall in love with a $24k dress, then expect to get it for less than half that. I can''t believe they sold it to her!!

Yeah, that was pretty insane. Haha, I liked how Randy just kept his mouth shut and you could tell he was stewing while helping her with the dress... then in the interview, he said he was just appalled, and how he''d "never, ever go into Gucci and haggle for a suit."

I just can''t imagine paying even the final price they got for the dress.

I don''t like how the employees will talk badly about the brides, their families and friends. It just rubs me the wrong way, seriously. Like, have some respect for your clients. Not everyone is ready to buy a dress the first day they shop...and can you blame them? And yet, the minute the SA is in the interview room it''s all about how the bride was "wasting their time" and blah blah blah. Seriously. It puts a bad taste in my mouth. Bad business. I understand the show is supposed to promote Kliensfield...but really, when you see the catty comments and rude tones that are taken there both in to a brides face and behind a brides back, it makes me cringe.

I agree. I mean, I guess Say Yes to the Dress is supposed to be promoting Kleinfeld''s? But if so, it''s doing a terrible job (or rather, the consultants are). I''d never buy from there because of how mean they are to the brides! And they''re SO catty and snooty. Ugh, no thanks. I''ll take my business elsewhere.

Exactly! You would have thought they had an idea of the price of the gown. Usually, they show the SA asking the bride what her budget is... maybe they assumed since she wanted to try on "that dress" she didn't have a budget. I thought they got a better deal than they deserved, though.

I got my dress at Kleinfeld. My experience was very different than what you see on the show. Everyone was very nice to me, and very patient, and I''m fairly certain they didn''t say nasty things about me behind my back.

I expected them to be so pushy, which honestly sometimes I need - but they just kind of sat back and watched my reactions to each dress.

I think a lot of what you see on the show is just for the show. There didn''t seem to be any drama at all while I was there. Also, the seamstress I''m working with said that while some of the women who are on the show are just really difficult people, the production crew of the show also likes to stir up drama and create "situations" where there aren''t any. Oh, and that thing about how no one is allowed in the stock room is nonsense; they''ll let any customer back there.

All that aside, I wouldn''t spend $24,500 on a dress!

same here! I had a really lovely experience there, and they were happy to "work with me" on the price. The SA who worked with us was really nice and down to earth (she is on the show), and wasn''t the least bit pushy (though I''m not sure she needed to be--I was pretty sold on two of the dresses I tried on there!)

I also think it is crazy when they comment on how little you can get under a $5,000 starting point. The show strikes me as though it is always angling to "catch" a bridezilla, but mostly it's the SA's that come off looking obnoxious.

Why not haggle? Now everyone knows that the $24,000 dress really has a $15,000 price tag.

That drives me crazy. When brides come in with a $2,000-3,000 budget, the associates act like it's going to be nearly impossible to find them something out of the, what, four dresses they carry in that price range, and half end up bringing out $6k Pnina Tornais anyway. Absolutely ridiculous. They should just visit the BWW forum and we could help them find something beautiful (without the 'tude.)

That said, I still watch the show for the drama. Remember the episode where they caught a bride stuffing a dress into her purse? Did she really think she'd get away with it?

My experience at Kleinfeld was both like and unlike what you see on the show.

LIKE because I thought the customer service was terrible. My consultant didn''t listen to a thing I said. I am 5''2" and not tiny. I asked for dresses with backs and NO ballgowns because I didn''t want to look like a cupcake. I did have a decent budget (not $25,000, natch

) At any rate, not only did she not bring me a single dress with a back, she practically forced me to try on more than one ballgown because *she* thought they would look good on me. She also brought me some sample-size dresses as suggestions that weren''t even my style. They were tiny, and I am not, so I definitely couldn''t even try them on. She draped the hanger over my neck and held them up in front of me. First of all, I would never buy a dress I didn''t actually try on, but making me feel like sh!t about my size wasn''t exactly a great selling tactic either. And my maid of honor WAS told that she couldn''t look through the racks for me. In the end, there was one dress that I didn''t feel like crap in, and she really tried to get me to buy it. NO WAY was that going to happen.

My experience was UNLIKE what they show on TV because the room I was in was tiny, my consultant barely spent any time or effort on me, and I felt like cattle.

hahahahahahaha...wait what did you look like? i missed it.

I can''t believe that there are wedding dresses that are $25,000 and people actually buy them. Then again, did try on Vera Wang for the hell of it because they were having a moving sale and everything was up to 70% off and it was still something like $15,000. I ended up going to the running of the brides thing, strolled in an hour or 2 after it started with my sister and left within the hour with an awesome dress for less then $300.

/there are some insane women at the running of the brides thing. The dress i ended up with was given to by another woman who was just dressing on dresses, not engaged, no boyfriend, just wanted a dress.

OMG! How big was her purse!? I mean...dresses are HUGE! I can''t believe someone would try and steal their WEDDING DRESS! I mean REALLY!

I saw this show for the first time the other day, and this was the episode that was on. I would have been SO embarrassed to try to haggle for that dramatic of a discount! (and it makes one wonder what the markup is, if they were able to knock the price down so much)
