diamonds missing in action

My e-ring comedy of errors continues...

AGA waited until yesterday to send the diamonds back overnight to UD since Fedex only visits them once a day. Today, Mr. Jordan from AGA calls me to tell me that UD has not received the diamonds! Apparently, UD didn''t receive the diamonds and called AGA. AGA said they had sent out the diamonds and called Fedex to find out what''s going on. Apparently the Fedex plane had mechanical problems and the diamond was not put on the plane. Basically, no one knows where the diamonds are! I feel that our online shopping experience has gone from bad to worse. I know my fiance was put off of online shopping from the first diamond not matching the certificate. I am worried the diamonds will be lost in transit. And after reading some of the fedex horror stories here, there are some serious concerns with shipping diamonds. We were hoping to get the ring before we left on vacation, but that doesn''t seem likely.

I just wonder if fedex would have done anything if UD didn''t notice that the stones were missing.

Awww. Don''t stress about it. Your package will be found. FedEx uses good tracking procedures. It sounds like it''ll be delayed a day but hold tight.
 
FedEx is a good outfit that processes hundreds of thousands of packages a day. It’s true that they occasionally lose one but, in reality, it’s extremely rare and I’m sure it’s insured even in that eventuality. Delayed packages outnumber lost packages by hundreds of times. If they say it missed the plane for mechanical reasons and it''s on the next one, I would believe them. Planes do that.

Fed ex is horrible. I''ve had only two shipping issues in 10 years and both were Fed Ex. I switched to UPS about 7 years ago and they''ve been flawless.

One situation a box was tampered with in the Jacksonville Hub. The box was actually knifed open and contents pulled out. The night before I had dropped the package off at the airport hub rather than just giving to a driver or shipping location like Mail Box Excetera.

Don''t expect Fed Ex to care, their service was pathetic and exactly why they won''t insure jewelry.
