Is December a really bad time of year to shop for loose diamonds? When I called WF a month back, the sales associate said that H VS are very popular and harder to find, and they didn't have ANY of those around the size I was looking for. I'm just wondering if generally, the stock is lower during the holidays or if vendors stock up for that time.

My goal is to have enough saved up by Dec. to get a pendant AND my b-day is right around then, too, so I MUST have a stone selected by the end of Dec.! Should I be planning to buy during Nov. to be sure to have more selection?

Might not be a bad idea, as I would imagine the inventory does goes faster due to gifts being bought.

I would think H VS stones (plus certain under carat mark sizes) would tend to be hot items all year long. I know vendors do try to stock up but people also do tend to buy more during the special occasions aka December frame period. To be on the safe side, how about looking earlier (as in Oct & Nov time frame)?
