Hello,

I am on a quest to buy my very first diamond for an engagement ring. I recently received a quote for loose ideal cut 1ct diamond from www.diamondregistry.com. The prices seem very competitive. Does anyone have experience with and/or opinions about diamondregistry.com?

Others had asked the same questions about this company on this forum, but surprisingly, I have not seen a single reply with comments, testimonies, reviews, and/or criticisms about diamondregistry.com.

From what I can tell, the CEO/owner, Mr. Joseph Schlussel, seems to be a veteran of the diamond industry, so I would assume that at least some diamond professionals as well as some consumers would have heard about or have direct experience with the diamondregistry.com.

I would appreciate any information.

I am puzzled by the "zero" reply with comments, testimonies, reviews, and/or criticisms about diamondregistry.com. It is hard to imagine that no one on this forum has heard about or has direct experience with diamondregistry.com.

Cool_rock, I remember the site has been in the web for several years and looks rather legitimate.

You're right, however, we haven't had any feedback posted here yet. Please be the first and share your experience.

I know him for at least 20 years,He is a very nice guy and is a veteran of the industry ,well respected.he is legit.

Thanks diamondsman for your info on DimondRegistry.com.

Interesting site...I would love to hear about your experience when it has completed.

The site doesn't seem to give much information in terms of what you are buying beyond 'min & max' quality and general pricing...do you get to see the copy of the cert and/or any pictures of the stone? Are the policies (return, upgrade etc) good and competitive to others? Can you actually speak to some happy customers? There is alot of intriguing press on the homepage, but not much on the stones themselves.

They do say they give a Megascope report with each stone, so be sure to get that and post the information here so people can chime in with their 2 cents on the stone. Also, it notes they offer the 'look first' option which means you can have the diamond sent to one of their approved registrty members for viewing before purchasing, would definitely take advantage of that.

Be sure to do all your homework...don't just get seduced by a low price...be sure that you shop informed!

The Pricescope tutorial can help you determine your priorities on what is important for your purchase.

If you do buy, let us know how things go and please post pictures!

Yeah, his name pops up as an author of various articles, etc. Do a google as well on the schusel (sp?) name.
