Hello everyone,
While I am not new to precious stones (it has been almost an obsession of mine since I can remember), I am mildly oblivious to some of the finer points of business practice in the trade. I have a few questions, and while they may seem stupid or even insane (I did say I was new, remember
), please, I beg you to bear with me.
I am looking to personally cater to someone''s diamond needs, not being a wholesaler. I want to help someone select the diamond that is right for them, and then procure it for them for the jewelry they want it for. This means that I will not be working with a few hundred diamonds at a time, just on a per-customer basis. Is this business practice possible?
Secondly, because I would be working on a per-customer basis, would it be possible to just buy it from a wholesaler when the customer has chosen what they want (based on the 4 Cs parameters)?
