Hello,
Reader never poster, so my first post here as I need some input here on this ring. My mom gave me this ring that she claims is real. Doesn't have papers. Only thing she recalls its a SI1 and it measures about 5.9x4.9 and the carat weight is .19!! How can that be.. To me it looks more like a .7 or .8 .. I dont know the rest of the measurments.. The ring for me looks very nice.. I like the stone. I have though no experience with emerald cuts so maybe I am missing someting I do not know but I see the steps... no inclusions to eye..for me pretty enough I am just stumped on how the carat weight is so low... she insists it's only .19
Thanks!

It looks as though the "center" is actually a cluster of nine diamonds - an emerald cut surrounded by four baguettes and four rounds at the corners. Maybe the .19ct is the center emerald?

Agree, it looks like an “illusion” type diamond. Several diamonds put together to look like one bigger one

OMG now I see it. I am very far and near sighted so I took my contacts out and use the magnifying glass and there it was. It’s a good illusion though I’m here I’m thinking I have a huge solitaire LOL. I seen this in a lot with brilliants There you can tell it’s a group of smaller diamonds. This is a very good one convincing people from a distance it’s a larger one piece. Now I need to really get a hold of my mom because I think we were just miscommunicated I think she assumed I was talking about the true center diamond. And I’m here I was talking about the whole thing

Thanks for the extra set of good eyes guys.

Very pretty cluster ring

Wow that's one of the best “illusion” type rings I have seen.
Congrates!

I agree that it's a well-done illusion ring. I personally have found the ones I've seen in person with step cuts to be more convincing than the ones with princesses!

Thanks for the compliments. It does look great and I like how the light captures it. But after reading how sensitive they can be I’m a bit nervous wearing it day to day. My own engagement ring doesn’t fit at the moment and so either I lose tons of weight or I get it resized. :oops2:

I think yours is set much better than the typical illusion rings we see. Yours looks like it is using prongs to hold the rounds in.
Its a bit difficult to see what is holding the emeralds in. Can you post a straight on up-close picture? THat would be really helpful.

I was able to get better shots. As you can see the bottom of the ring it comes to a point which is interesting I don’t think there’s a point to it it’s just for aesthetics

More photos would be great. Usually I dislike illusion rings unless they're done with emerald and baguette cuts, like yours. You have a very lovely ring!
Ferkos has something like this in a cuff ring that I've been lemming. But yours is much better.

Way cool! Thank you.

Wow, very pretty ring. I didn’t see at first that it is a cluster. Well done. The point on the bottom is there to help balance the top of the ring from flipping. A nice feature to help keep the diamonds up top where you can enjoy them :)

Im going to answer your question here from the other thread:
The ones with step cuts are often more repairable and stronger than the ones with the princess cuts.
The ones with princess cuts are pretty much impossible to repair economically.
If all the stones are tight I would not hesitate recommending to just wear it but at the same time 24/7 all the time may be to much for it.

Yes, what @Karl_K said above. Your stones are held in by little prongs.
