Diamond Studs

My friend is looking to buy a pair of diamond stud earrings. She only wants to spend $150 dollars on them. She found 1/2 carat diamond studs at Superjeweler.com. Any suggestions on where we can find a better buy?

Does she just want cheap? I mean, there is no information on colour and clarity, much less basic information about the diamond cut. I'd be super cautious about Superjeweler. With only $150 to spend, what is the minimum size she is looking for?

Just a thought..buy some nice CZ earrings for now and save up a bit more money to buy better quality diamonds...

Let me in vision for you what the pair of stud earrings will look like when you receive them.

Take a pair of diamonds cut so badly cut they look like a pair of .30tw (still weighting .50tw but are cut so deep they look like you bought .30tw from the top view ) Then as you glance at two dead stones that look like somebody took a shot gun to them you notice a different color , you can only describe it as close to the color of fried monkey spit. Yes, you can boast to your friends on what a great deal you got , as they laugh behind your back.

Remember a diamond is forever and so is ugly!

I’m not here to rip on another website, but when I see this I feel an urge to make sure the customer does not proceed without precaution.

If you click on the "Diamond Quality" link, it defines what they consider the varying levels of diamond quality. These are one star diamonds and here is the definition:

Promotional Diamonds
1 Star Diamonds are like the regular quality that you would
see at the shopping mall jewelers like Zales, Kay, and others.
Color is K/L and Clarity is I2

I2 is verging on industrial grade quality diamonds. Diamond tipped drill bits.

Stones like that can be milky white in appearance due to oodles and oodles of pinpoints.

Honestly, for a $150 budget, I''d pass on the diamond earrings and opt for, as suggested, cz studs. I have a VERY minut pair of diamond studs I purchased from ebay seller Lippincott for less than $100, and they''re G/H VS, BUT they''re less than .20 TCW and too small to actually wear. lol The pair I DO wear are about three times this size.

what about a pair of real diamonds where several smaller diamonds are kind of squished together to make it look like one bigger diamond? I''ve seen a bunch of those where there are 4 princess cut diamonds arranged in a square and it kind of looks like one bigger stone. Just a suggestion...they would probably be cheaper.

I agree - an illusion set pair would probably be better looking studs - better quality and bigger look for the money. Seriously though, $150 for diamond studs is really pushing it if you expect anything worth having.

A good quality pair of CZ''s or moissanites would probably be a better bet and if she doesn''t tell, who''ll know the difference?
